As Amanda pulled me along through the empty fields of mist, I thought about how perfectly terrible a place this was to be such a passive person, and wondered why on earth I took on that trait to begin with.

Victor perked up. With an approving glance from Charlotte, he jumped from the cavity in her side, spewing brownish-red muk on the ground. He ran ahead and, as we followed his trail, a great stone wall came into view.

Amanda traced a finger along the heavily-graffitied stones while we followed it along. We stopped to admire a mural of bloody knives, all stabbing into a hemorrhaging Earth.

"So expressive.." Amanda noted, blowing a kiss to the art, "I love it!"

Iron bars protruded from the top of the snow-capped walls and pillars, making it seem quite inescapable.

We arrived at a gated entrance, the stone wall bending to form a huge, crumbling archway that sheltered a closed tin door.

Victor was already there, excitedly awaiting our arrival. He stood under a large button with a steel frame, above which was painted in dripping letters, 'Press to end the world'.

"Mhm." Charlotte nodded to Victor who was itching for the permission to jump up and slam the button.

There were a few, startling loud honking noises. We waited for a minute, Victor paced impatiently and grunted.

"Well, I guess nobody's home." I said holding my hands up in mock-defeat.

I was met with dirty looks, and a loud shriek from the gremlin.

"Victor!" A voice called from the other side of the tin door. The sound of a flipping breaker switch caused it to start sliding open to the left.

A snowy resort slowly revealed itself from behind the opening door while an unfamiliar face appeared in the gap.

She knelt down, pink hair swirling from the swift movement, and opened her arms. Victor launched himself into her. The pair tumbled backwards in the snow, giggling and grunting.

Amanda took an offended stance and glared at Charlotte.

"But you won't let me pat him on the head?"

Charlotte waved off the remark and marched through the gate towards the main building a hundred yards away.

Victor climbed atop his playmates head before leaping to catch up to Charlotte.

"Aww, so adorable." The girl said, standing up, watching Victor go. She turned and noticed me for the first time. "Who's this chump?" She asked with a head nod, before violating my personal space to examine me up close.

"Found him the fields," Amanda answered. "He had a legion pin, so I thought he-"

"Ohmygod!" My examiner screamed as she put her face close to mine and gripped my wrist.

Her expression molded into a happily demented scowl. "I'm gonna nail his fucking guts to the walls and yell surprise when Frank gets back!" She said, giggling psychotically.

Her free hand pulled a curved hunting knife from her waist and pressed it against my abdomen.

"Susie, don't!" Amanda threw her hands up.

She retracted her knife swiftly, hiding it behind her back like she had been caught stealing from the cookie jar. She looked at Amanda innocently and squeezed my wrist so that I winced in pain.

"Wanna come in and paint our nails with Kate's blood?"
