Darkness. No sounds or sensations. I remembered my grandparents house, wondered how I got so quickly lost. Suspended in shadows, unfeeling.
Is this is death?
The first thing I saw in the darkness was blood hovering around me. It flowed around in the emptiness like a spilled bottle of wine in zero gravity.
I stared forward, through the blood, to the new object appearing in my vision.
A glyph?
I didn't understand it. Whispers filled the silence but the voices were quiet and foreign.
The blood spiraled down and around my arm to the tip of my finger.
Point, touch.
It rushed to fill the glyph. Others then appeared around the original. Blood filled them one by one and, like a web, was connecting them.
The web of glyphs before me, over half of them glowed red now, the others.. were they waiting for me to bleed?
