I went to find Libby before I joined the dinner que, I didn't have to worry about waiting, my brothers and their friends were always near the front so we pushed in with them. A lot of people were intimidated by them, I mean I'm not surprised there all like 6ft or whatever. I was 5'9, Libby was small, so she always felt like she was hanging around with giants.
I found Libby and we started walking to the atrium, which was were everyone would sit for dinner. I saw my brothers and I got there attention to let them know I was coming. They had to distract the dinner ladies so they wouldn't see us pushing in and then we hid behind my brothers until they went away.
"Your lucky we're letting u push in" Leo snapped.
"Well what would happen when if I told dad that I didn't eat because of you" I snapped back at him.
He turned around and continued his conversation with his friends and I turned back to Libby to chat.
"What's on for dinner today?" I asked
"I dunno, wait let me ask Alex he's near the menu...ALEX!" she had a crush on Alex wheather she wanted to admit it or not.
"WHATTTT!" He shouted back.
"WHATS ON FOR DINNER?"
"erm...PASTA" he turned looking at the menu "AND THERES PIZZA ASWELL!" he smiled, Libby smiled back and held her thumb up to him.
"Gezz are you trying to deafen me, you could have just asked toby to ask him for you." I said taking my hands of my ears.
"That sounds to complicated for me." she replied
"That's a good point"
We moved along, collecting trays on the way past. I grabbed a flapjack for pudding and a apple juice carton, I got the pasta that was on for dinner and grabbed a fork. At our school to pay for your dinner you use your fingerprint, so I paid how I usually would and the man at the till gave me a smile so I smiled back. I waited for Libby to get hers then we walked over to our table. Everyone in school knew where we sat so no one dared sit there, if they did they got the wrath of my brothers and their friends, who were just as scary, as well as Luke, Libbys brother. Luke was the same age as Toby. It had been the table where the Owens sit every since my dad came here. Me and Libby usually sat on the end so we weren't in the middle of there conversations, or sometimes we'd sit on a different table, if there were any left. It was easier to sit with my brothers otherwise I'd get a 10 minute questionnaire from them about why i wasn't sitting with them.
I ate my food pretty slowly because me and Libby were chatting away about 'Juice' which was our code name for my crush. It was annoying that they were so protective, I can fight my own battles.
"Riley, I spoke to mrs robins and she's kindly moved your detention to Wednesday while I'm at Rugby practice." Leo said loud so the whole table heard, not like they all didn't already know.
"Okay" I replied not noticing I had food in my mouth, I quickly put my hand up covering it before shutting my mouth. I saw Leo give me a dirty look, I ignored him and we both went back to eating.
Once the boys had finished eating they started to clear the table to go put their trays back and trobalt do what boys do and kick an empty bottle outside pretending it was a football. But Leo Stayed and made his way round the table to sit right besides me. What did he want now?
"Phone please." He said simply like it was gonna be that easy for him. Absolutely not!
"Omg what is everyones obsession today why can't you all just leave me alone for one day." I threw my empty carton down onto my tray as I turned to face him.
