🎨22: Connection

Confusion... that's all I have. Hindi ko na alam kung ano ang nangyayari. Lalo lang gumugulo ang situation namin. Sa dami ng taong possible na involve, mas mahirap ng hanapin ang totoong may kasalanan.

“Sydney? Tawag na tayo ni Kye,” pabulong na sabi ni Faith. “May faculty meeting daw ngayon, this is the perfect timing we are waiting for.”

I nodded but my heart stammered. Kinakabahan pa rin ako sa gagawin namin. We didn't know what would be the consequences of our plan.

Nang marating namin ni Faith ang faculty office ni sir de Vera, Kye was already waiting. There were few students passing by. Tama si Kye, ito na ang hinihintay naming pagkakataon.

“Naka-lock ang pinto... but we have to do something to open it,” mahinang sabi ni Kye.

“Let me handle it, cover up n'yo lang ako,” I took off one of my hairpins and tried to use it, so I could open the door.

“May tao! May tao,” Faith said. I stopped opening the door.

I saw three ladies walking in. Malapit na sana mabuksan eh, dumaan-daan pa sila. Nakakainis.

“OMG! Hi Kye!” sabay-sabay na sabi ng tatlong babae with matching kaway at pa-cute pa. They're eating out our time already.

“Hello,” tipid na sagot ni Kye.

“Alis na kasi...” pabulong na sabi ni Faith pero narinig din pala 'to ng mga babae.

“Ang papangit naman ng mga kasama ni Kye, tara na,” sabi ng isa, sabay irap ng mata nito.

“Sakalin ko kaya ang mga 'yun?” Faith stomped her foot.

“Ssshhh... hayaan mo na sila Faith-- back to work na tayo,” I said as I continued to open the door. “Gotcha!”

Mabilis kaming pumasok sa loob ni Kye. I directed to the table of sir de Vera. Hinalungkat ko lahat ng files na meron siya, but I couldn't find anything significant.

I opened the drawer and I saw a flashdrive. Kinuha ko ito at itinago.

“Sydney! His laptop is still open, and I found something fishy here,” sabi ni Kye. Nilapitan ko siya and I gaped upon seeing a drug matrix.

“Si sir de Vera, drug dealer siya, this can't be,” I touched my chest.

“We need a flashdrive to save this file,” nanginginig ang boses ni Kye.

I took off the flashdrive and gave it to him. He quickly saved the file. But as it continued to save, we heard Faith's voice outside.

“Sir! Ano po kasi!” she was almost yelling. “Masama po kasi ang pakiramdam ko, kaya di po ako makatayo dito.”

“Bilis na— save na please,” I was panicking already. Hindi kami pwede mahuli dito. This information we had, masyado 'tong mahalaga.

“Tapos na Sydney, we have to get out of here,” Kye said in his low tone voice.

“How? That door is the only way,” we peeked in the window and we saw sir de Vera outside taking out his key. Si Faith naman, inaalalayan ng ibang students. Her plan didn't work out.

I just brushed my palms together as  the doorknob moved. Lalong bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko.

The door slightly opened kaya nagtago na lang kami ni Kye sa likod nito. Kye tapped my shoulder as we both took deep breaths.

We waited for half a minute but no one continued to open the door. Sumilip ako at nakita ko ang paglalakad ni sir palayo habang buhat-buhat ng ibang students si Faith.
