Eighteen

"Ollie come here please" I say from my spot by James. He has been following me around while I study but I'm making him be quiet.

"What's up El" he says as he reaches us.

"I miss you we need to spend time together" I say. With both of us studying all the time we have spent zero time together. We each have been focusing on different subjects so we haven't even been able to study together like me and Lily or me Remus.

"I agree why don't we go down to the kitchens and get a snack maybe play some cards or something down there" he says as I start to put my stuff away.

"Sure I'm gonna go put my stuff up will you grab the cards" I say he nods and walks off, "James I'll see you later okay" I say turning and giving James a hug. For someone who I don't study with we end up spending a lot of time together because he doesn't mind just sitting with me while I work and making me take short breaks.

"Okay Elly have fun with my best friend" he says a little jealous. Him and Ollie haven't gotten much time together lately because Ollie likes to study alone and spends all his non-studying time with Lily.

"He was my brother before he was your best friend so I will have fun" I say then run to put my bag up. When I come back down Ollie is talking to James holding a pack of cards.

"Lets go" I say pulling on his sleeve.

"My turn next I'm still mad that you care about spending time with Lily and Elly more than me" James says to Ollie while pulling me into another quick hug which I roll my eyes at but hug back.

"Okay so what do you want to talk about" Ollie asks as we walk out of the common room.

"You and Lily of course" I say making him smile.

"What do you want to know"

"Well Lily's been giving me details probably too many to be honest but I want to know how you feel about it" I say nudging him with my elbow. As soon as I brought her up he started grinning and he hasn't stopped since.

"Well I know it's a little soon but I think I love her" he says making me squeal a little.

"Think or know" I say trying to contain my excitement.

"Well honestly I've known for years" he says.

"Then why am I just now hearing about it" I say.

"Because you are my sister and she's your friend I didn't know how you would feel about it" he says.

"Well I feel great about it I know you deserve someone like Lily and she deserves someone like you" I say when we walk into the kitchen. A little house elf runs up. "Hi how are you, can I get a peppermint hot chocolate and some snack surprise me" I say.

"I'm good thank coming right up and you sir" the house elf says turning to Ollie.

"No need to call me sir I'm Ollie I'll have the same" he says smiling at her. The house elf blushes and runs off to get that for us.

"So how are you feeling about OWLS" Ollie asks.

"Can we not talk about school that's all I do" I say.

"Sure what do you want to talk about" he asks noticing my serious look.

"Umm I kind of want to talk about mom" I say.

"What about her" he says looking down.

"I had the nightmare again" I say making him look up at me. Ever since mom died I've been having a reoccurring nightmare about it. I was the one that found her dead. It was sudden she had a stroke in her sleep and dad was late to work so he didn't try to wake her up. I woke up first and went into her room to find her laying there so still.
