Eight

"ELLY" Marlene says pulling me into a big hug. I laugh and wrap my arms around her.

 "We just saw each other this morning" I say pulling back and giving her a weird look. 

"I know but I missed you we haven't been spending enough time together any of us" Marlene says frowning and flopping down on her bed.

"You know what we need" Lily says from her bed. "A girls night just the five of us we can hang out catch up and maybe play some games" she finishes getting up.

"That's a great idea Lily I'll get the snacks with Mary and you all can set up the room" Alice says getting up and pulling Mary up with her. 

"I should let the boys know or they may try to burst in here to pull me off for something so I'll be right back" I say running out of the room and over to the boys who are sitting around the fire. When I approach they all look up at me.

"Hi Love what's up" Sirius says smiling at me. James goes to pull me into his lap but I stop him. "Sorry I can't stay we're having a girls night thought I would let you all know so you don't worry and bust in the room" I say James gets up and wraps his arm around me. 

"That's great have fun with the girls you deserve some quality time with them you have been with us an awful lot lately" Remus said smiling up at me.

"Yeah El don't get into anything I know how wild you girls can get" Ollie jokes. He knows the most that happens is a slightly out of hand game of truth or dare.

 "Okay Ol whatever you say I'll see you all tomorrow good thing classes were canceled" I said giving James a hug and Remus a kiss on the cheek before running back off to the room. Behind me I hear Sirius say something about unfairness. When I get back in the dorm I see that Lily and Marlene have pushed all our beds together and charmed away the curtains and poles so its just one big bed pretty much. "This is perfect I've missed this" I say flopping down on the big bed. 

"Pretty please let me do your makeup tonight" Marlene asks.

"Sure but why its not like anyone but us will see it" I ask as Alice and Mary walk in. 

"For practice I want to be an auror but I've been thinking in the meantime about starting a little makeup company people could pay me to do their makeup for dances or parties or dates whatever and then that would help me save up for getting an apartment once I leave here" she says grinning. It's a good idea, Marlene is really good at doing makeup on all different people even when my skin was purple she did a good job with it. She really has a talent for it. 

"That's great Marlene you'll be really good at that" Lily said smiling at her.

"Does that mean I will have to pay you to do my makeup" Alice says apprehensive. 

"Nope you guys are my friends and I already did your makeup before so I'm not gonna start charging you now" Marlene says laughing. 

"Good because you know I'm terrible at it I don't need to have to pay to get it done" Mary said pulling her hair into a ponytail and setting out all the food. Her and Alice sit down and me and Marlene get up so we can go over to her vanity for her to do my makeup. As she is the girls decide it is the perfect time to start interrogating me because I can't move. "So about you and your admirers" Alice says playing with Lily's hair.

"Which admirers Alice you know I have many" I said making Marlene laugh and drag her hand across my face smudging something apparently because she cussed under her breath.

"Don't make me laugh El unless you want to look like a train wreck" she said cleaning up the mess she made.

"How about the one of the ones you were just with" Alice said.

"Eww Alice don't refer to my Ollie that way he's my brother" I joked with a serious face making Marlene laugh again and mess something up. She pinched my arm making me yelp.

"No you idiot I'm not talking about your brother" She said exasperated.

"Oh you mean Peter I mean I don't think he likes me" I said acting like they were idiots. Marlene laughed messing up my makeup for the third time. 

"For the love of Merlin she means James, Sirius and Remus you weirdo" Marlene said "Now stop making me laugh or I will kill you all" she said fixing what she just messed up. 

"Okay Mar if El stops acting like a moron" Alice says "I'm serious El what's going on there those boys are so head over heels its insane" she says smiling like a maniac. 

"This again you know they are my best friends and nothing more" I say rolling my eyes.

 "They clearly don't see it that way, the way they have been acting lately is hilarious" Lily says wincing as Alice pulled on her hair too hard.

"They don't like me in any way more than a friend and I know that for a fact, don't you think I would know if my best friends were all secretly pining over me" I said and heard all the girls let out a sigh. They have been trying to convince me for what feels like forever that the boys like me. I just don't see it why would they like me. We are too close for that plus they wouldn't do that to each other. 

"You would think you would yeah but you are as blind as a bat when it comes to seeing who loves you" Mary says eating some of the snacks.

"And who doesn't" I hear Marlene mumble under her breath and mine catches. I hear the other girls gasp but I'm too busy pulling away from Marlene and running to the bathroom to notice. I get I the bathroom slam and lock the door then slide down the door. I can't believe she just said that, why would she say that, I thought she was my friend, why would she take a jab like that, and about him too what a low blow, we were having such a great night, she ruined it, he ruined it, he always ruins things, why can't I get away from him, I'm so stupid, I'm so weak, I should be able to handle an offhanded comment about something so long ago- "Elly I'm sorry please open the door" I hear Marlene calling from the other side. 

"Just go away you clearly don't care anyway I get the hint Marlene I'm not blind you don't love me" I said through tears my voice strained.

"At least let me in" Lily says her voice pleading. I just ignore her. I don't hear anything for a while then I hear a gentle knock.

"Hey El let me in please" I hear Ollie say outside the door. I immediately get up and open the door flinging myself into his arms and crying even harder. "It's okay Elena Marlene didn't mean to upset you" Ollie said.

"He's right I didn't even think about all the history there it was just the first thought that popped in my head I'm sorry I have no filter" Marlene piped up from behind Ollie. I turned to look at her, she looked sincere and really upset so I went up to her and hugged her.

"It's okay Marlene it's just a touchy subject" I said smiling.

"You need to be more careful with my sister all of you or we will have some real problems" Ollie said.

"I'm always careful with her" I hear James say and that's when I realize the girls didn't just get my brother. James saw me looking at him and said "I was the backup plan" James said grinning at me. "Okay I'm better now all of you boys out we need to continue our girls night" I said smiling at the boys. "Okay goodnight love" Sirius said.

"Goodnight dorks and goodnight Remus" I said kissing Remus on the cheek sweetly.

"Hey why isn't he a dork" James says.

"And why does he get a kiss" Sirius calls."

Enough now out" I said pushing them out the door then shutting it "So are we ready to continue this girls night" I say turning back to Lily, Marlene, Mary and Alice smiling.
