Liberosis (A Marauders Era Fanfiction)

Four

The next morning everyone is up bright and early except for Remus and Sirius. We all eat breakfast and try to be patient waiting for them to wake up but eventually James gets tired of waiting and makes me come with him to go wake them up.

"Why do I have to do it" I ask frowning.

"Because they won't murder you" James says pushing me towards Sirius. I kneel down beside him and gently shake him. He groans and turns over. I climb on top of him and he still doesn't wake up. I get really close to his face and shout his name and he finally wakes up with a louder groan than before.

"Really love you don't have to shout" he says rubbing his head in pain.

"I actually did I tried everything else" I say motioning to me on top of him.

"Well not everything if you would have kissed me I'm sure I would have woken up" he says with a wink as I walk over to Remus.

"I'll remember that for next time, oh look its next time" I say leaning down and kissing Remus on the cheek. He smiles and reaches out to me in his sleep catching me by the waist and pulling me quickly into his bed. "See it doesn't work" I say looking over my shoulder back at Sirius who is looking at us like he wants to throw up.

"Yep I see that" he says getting up and going to the bathroom. I turn back to Remus I start rubbing his hair.

"Remus you need to get up hun" I say softly trying not to hurt his head. He opens his eyes slowly before smiling at me.

"I could get used to this" he whispers. I laugh and try to get up. "No please just lay with me I feel like shit and I'm not ready to get up" he says.

"This is exactly what we are meant to be not doing until I make a decision" I whisper looking back to make sure James isn't hearing but he is glaring at his feet. I get up and walk over to James. "Get ready and come on Reg wants to take us all somewhere" I say over my shoulder at Remus who is frowning. I roll my eyes and pull James out of the room yelling behind me "hurry up." We walk downstairs and I see Lily and Ollie helping Regulus pack up what looks to be a picnic basket.

"A picnic" James says as we walk over "so I'm guessing your not taking us to a restaurant" he says throwing an arm over Regulus' shoulder. I'm so glad they seem to be getting along. I see Regulus squirm and he walks away to grab a blanket from the living room without acknowledging James. Okay maybe not. I follow Reg into the living room to see if he's okay. When I get there I see him leaning against a wall with a hand over his face.

"Everything okay" I say cautiously because I can't tell if he looks angry or upset.

"I'm fine will you help me find a blanket that we can all fit on" he says pushing off the wall and turning to me.

"Yeah sure" I say.

"How much further" Ollie asks pushing his hair out of his face before grabbing Lily's hand.

"Not much further" Regulus says from the front of the group as we hike through the woods. I'm near the back by Sirius who keeps complaining about the long walk and Remus who keeps telling him to stop. James is right behind Regulus going back and forth between trying to get Regulus to acknowledge his existence and whining to Ollie about no one giving him any attention.

"Good I'm starving what did you pack to eat mate" James asks Regulus nudging him.

"You'll see" Regulus mumbles then moves faster. I turn to Sirius.

"What do you think is his problem with James" I ask.

"They've never liked each other he's just not comfortable yet" Sirius says with a shrug.

"They seemed pretty comfortable at the party" Remus says making me nod in agreement. Right as our short conversation comes to an end so does our long walk. We make our way into a clearing that's so beautiful, it has a cute stream that flows along one side lots of pretty flowers and a huge oak tree in the center. I look around in awe then run up to the front of the group by Regulus.

"This is so gorgeous how do you know about this place" I ask him.

"It's so close to the old house I wonder how I never knew about it" Sirius says.

"I found it when I was little, used to come here when it got to be too much at home, I always thought about telling you Sirius but honestly sometimes it was good to get away from all of it including your snide comments about Slytherin or my friends" Regulus says frowning.

"This place must be really important to you thank you so much for trusting us with it" Lily says and we all agree. We all set up the picnic and then sit down. I sit between Ollie and Sirius.

"This is so nice such a big difference from last night" Remus says before taking a bite of some bread.

"I know it seemed like we could all use a calm day" Regulus says looking around at the group.

"We don't have those often" Sirius jokes.

"Yeah we always have some chaos going on" James says. "I'm glad we can all just have some time to hang out" he says.

"Yeah especially since the all of you but Remus will be leaving tomorrow" Ollie says pulling Lily close to him her giving him a loving look.

"I wish we could all be together all the time" I say leaning into Sirius' shoulder. It's true as much as I love my dad this feels like family, this feels like home. I love being with the boys and with Lily and Ollie here it feels so much more complete.

"Guys can we all sleep down here tonight I don't feel like going to our separate rooms especially since this will probably be the last time I see you boys before school starts back" I ask the group.

"Sure El on couches and airmatress or should we make a big palette in the floor like we did as kids" Remus asks laughing.

"Ooh lets do a palette most of you guys have never gotten that experience with us" I say excited, me Ollie and Remus used to do it all the time as kids but everyone else never has at least not with me.

"Oh that sounds fun" Lily says.

"Everyone go get all the pillows and blankets you can find" Ollie says and everyone goes off to find them. We stack blankets on the floor with a big enough square for all of us to fit then grab a big comforter and charm it to be big enough to fit over all of us. We each grab a pillow or two and decide where to sleep. Ollie and Lily obviously decide to sleep together and James claims Ollie's other side. The line up from there goes Remus, me, Sirius, Regulus. I got the spot by Remus under the claim of old times sake. Sirius upon hearing I had an open side claimed it and Regulus decided the safe bet was by his brother. For now though we are all just sitting around drinking tea and chatting.

"Can you believe we only have two more years left of school" Lily says as she is carefully braiding my hair.

"Two more years until the rest of our lives" Ollie says smiling at Lily.

I look at Sirius dead asleep then turn to Remus. I notice he is still awake despite everyone else's sleeping state. I smile at him.

"Couldn't sleep" he asks. I shake my head. "me neither too excited thinking about waking up to your face" he says making me laugh and lightly hit his arm.

"Well you can't wake up to it if you don't ever fall asleep" I joke.

"That's true now why can't you go to sleep" he asks me.

"Well I have a really bad feeling, like something really bad is coming and its getting closer by the day, it feels really close right now, scary close" I say tearing up.

"Well I'm not gonna tell you everything will be okay because we both know that's bullshit these are scary times but what I will say is you are strong and you can survive anything so no matter what it is you will make it through it, you've made it this far" he says.

"I haven't done it alone I've had you and Ollie and my dad the whole time and all the rest of these amazing people since first year I couldn't have made it without all of you I can't make it without all of you" I say.

"Well I can tell you I'm not going anywhere" he says pulling me to his chest and rubbing my hair until I fall asleep.
