tear in my heart twenty one pilots
"you fell asleep in my car i drove the whole time
but that's okay ill just avoid the holes so you sleep fine."

i wanted to tell her.

that i had followed polaris to the top of that garage that night too.

that polaris led me to her too.

but then id have to tell her why i was following polaris in the first place.

so i just didnt say anything.

she had the biggest smile plastered across her face all night. it made me so happy knowing she was too.

we swam for a little while longer. it mostly consisted of me teasing her and us play fighting with water, but it was the most alive id felt in a long time.

it was once she seemed tired that i asked her, "you wanna go? you seem worn out."

"yeah," she nodded. "im getting sleepy."

i could feel her head nodding against my shoulder as i held her up out of the water, against me.

i was so careful about where i put my hands to hold her up. i didnt want to put them anywhere she wasnt okay with so i resorted to hugging her tight to me so i didnt have to hold beneath her.

i walked us farther into the shallow end and closer to the dock. i hoisted her up onto the dock so she was sitting on it before pulling myself up out of the water.

i could tell she was tired. she still smiled like she always did but she could barely keep her eyes open.

i held out my hands and helped her to her feet. i tied my shoes back on when i looked at her weighing her options as to what to do now.

she was standing in her nirvana tshirt, staring down at her shorts, trying to decide how to get dry.

i laughed at her as i stood up, picking up my shirt. "here," i said throwing it to her.

"you sure?" she asked catching it.

"yeah," i said looking down at my soaked boxers, "ill be fine."

"okay," she said uncomfortably as she began to play with the bottom hem of her shirt.

i grabbed my phone and pants as i walked past her on the dock. "ill wait over there so you can change," i told her as i walked farther towards the end of the dock.

i waited for her, facing into the woods.

i wanted to turn around so badly, just to see a peak at how gorgeous she is underneath her clothes, but i would never do that to her.

if she doesnt want me to see, i dont get to see. and ill wait til she is comfortable with me seeing.

i just wished she understood how beautiful she truly is.

"okay," i heard her say as she walked up beside me. my tshirt was huge on her tiny frame, but she looked just as pretty as she always does.
