Jaden happily scarfed down the food that I made him, probably because he hadn't eaten all day. Josh had some as well, of course, not passing up a homemade meal.
"So how long are you going to stay, Mase?" Josh asked curiously, just trying to make conversation as we ate.
I shrugged, "I'm probably just going to stay to help Jaden clean up his room. I don't want to just stay here if I wasn't invited."
Jaden instantly looked up, "You're always welcomed here, Mase."
I flashed him a tight lipped smile as my stomach started going crazy. No, I can't be feeling like this again... he just broke my heart.
After the three of us ate, Jaden and I headed back up to his room, strictly to clean it. It took a solid 30 minutes of cleaning, and that's probably because I was so good at cleaning. I think that if it was just Jaden, it would've took him an hour at the least.
Just as we finished, Jaden collapsed backwards onto his bed, patting the spot next to him so I would sit. I quietly sat in the spot, looking down on him as he layed down.
"So where exactly does this leave us?" Jaden asked curiously, looking at me for an expression.
I sighed, fumbling with my hands in my lap and just thinking? Where exactly did this leave us? I mean, we did both have feelings for each other still, but Jaden broke my heart, and I don't want that to happen again.
"I say we're just friends for now," I said, speaking my opinion, "I mean, if you really do want us back, I think that a small break should help us out."
Jaden sighed, closing his eyes for a second before looking back at me, "It's going to kill me, but if it's worth having a chance of getting you back, I'll do it. I'd do it a million times over if I could."
I looked away from him, not really knowing what else to say as the two of us sat in a comfortable silence.
He voice cracked as he spoke up, "Do you, uh, want to stay a little bit longer? Maybe be can watch a movie or something... as friends."
I think that him saying that we were only friends hurt him as much as it hurt me hearing it, but it needed to be said. We both needed to understand that we couldn't go back to how we used to be. Not now at least.
I sighed, "I don't know Jaden..."
He frowned, "So you're telling me that friends don't watch movies together?"
I stayed quiet and he sighed, "Look I just don't want you to leave yet, Mase."
I shook my head at him, "You can't be saying things like that to me from now on, Jaden. Did we not just agree that we would be friends for now?." He messed with my head way too much.
He sighed, "I know, I just... it's how I feel Mason."
"This isn't any easier for you than it is for me," I said in a cold tone, "Don't forget that we're here in the first place because of you."
His aggressively stood up from the bed, pacing back and forth in front of me, "Dammit, Mason, don't you think I know that? I remind myself a million times a day, and it doesn't make it any easier knowing that I hurt the only person that's ever loved me that much, how many times do I need to say it?"
I shook my head, "No, you don't get to do that! You don't get to try and make me feel bad for you when I'm the one that had to find out that the person they loved cheated on them!"
"I'm not trying to make you feel bad Mase," Jaden said with a scoff, "I'm just trying to be honest with you. I want you to know that I can't just sit here and pretend like I don't want you."
