The following day I went to visit my dad's grave and Phin's. This moment seemed rather pessimistic, but it had always been where I also needed motivation.
Ever since I had stepped in C.J. Walker Park, I have always kept the message behind the photo from my dad. It had read:
"You are the reason why I am brave, Miles."- Dad.
I now had the perfect response for my dad's message. As I made my way to his grave, I was pondering on what to say.
I knelt down before his gravestone and held the photograph tightly.
"I miss you, dad." I quietly began, whilst being on one knee. "You're the reason for why I keep going. I won't give up on you, dad. I promise."
I slowly rose from my positiom and had made my way to Phin's grave. I instantly felt guilty after her sacrifice that night. She was so innocent that night, but she made it difficult to make that believable.
I knelt down at Phin's grave and had placed a bouquet of red roses for her.
"It didn't have to be this way Phin. We should have talked it out. But I'm gonna miss you, girl." I whispered. I knew she couldn't hear me and it hurt more to know that she couldn't. "Guess we'll never have that New Year's kiss, but I'll always come back."
I got up and left her grave. I needed to go home now and start a fresh.
Rest In Peace, Phin. Rest Im Power Dad. I love you.
Both.
