Phin and I had woken up in the Roxxon HQ. The light was a burning bright and painful white. I had learned that my hands were tied behind a chair.
I tried pulling myself out of it and realised that I couldn't. Not even with a mild Venom Punch.
A familiar figure had emerged from the corner. I had opened my eyes slightly to try and see it better.
"Krieger?" I said weakly, now seeing Krieger's face in front of mine.
"Hello, Spider-Man. I've been dying to meet you." Sarcastically put Krieger, pulling out a chair to face me. "I've also being dying to pull that mask right off your face."
Krieger had stretched a hand out to try and reach for my mask. I sent a shock to my face, causing him to retreat his hand back in surprise.
"Oh, man. That's hot." Krieger falsely chuckled. "Was that involuntary?"
"Simon, leave him alone. I'm the one you want." Begged Phin, also tied to a chair opposite the room.
"Deal with Spidey, will ya?" Asked Krieger to the Reds, who were holding electric bats. There were about seven armed Reds. "That bio-electricity would really be useful. Especially when I find out what gave you your powers."
Oh, man. They were so gonna regret what they were gonna do to me. I could feel a mega surge of electricity flowing through my veins.
My insides began to glow a yellowy -orange.Krieger's eyes had become wide with shock.
"Uhm, is he supposed to be doing that?" Asked Krieger worriedly to one of the Reds.
Before they could answer his question, I had already released a massive ball of electricity around me, causing all the neighbouring Reds to collapse to the ground with shock.
Ha-ha! With shock. Great one. I thought to myself.
Krieger had disappeared that time and I didn't care. Phin was the person I needed to set free right now. I hastily began attacking the rope, while she looked up at me through her Tinkerer mask to face me.
"Spider-Man, I had a friend called Miles who said that he was you." Stated Phin, now getting up from the chair and massaging her wrists.
"You know how fans are, always destined to be their icon." I laughed off, knowing full-well that I had actually told her the truth. "I'm sure he's a great guy."
"He is." Sighed Phin, dozing off slightly. "He's a great guy-friend."
I smirked under my mask with pride and had decided to wipe it off my face in order to pay full attention to Phin.
"Alright, where's Krieger?" I aksed sternly, clenching both my fists.
"Too far into the HQ. We're gonna have to stick together." Insisted Phin, who was starting to walk ahead of me.
"Yeah. Yeah." I agreed, now following her lead.
I was curious as to why the Tinkerer and the rest of the underground had wanted vengeance on Krieger. I thought that Roxxon was working with them all along.
But I understood why Phin wanted to do this. She wanted to avenge Rick. The sad truth is that he's gone.
I would've avenged my dad if I wanted to, but Peter had shown me that revenge is never the solution. In fact, it eats people up to the point they don't know what they are doing. When they've realised what they've done, it's way too late.
I don't want the same issue for Phin.
"Let's go Spidey--Surveillance is right there." Indicated Phin, opening the timid door confidently and stepping in.
