~Chapter 16~

Scarlett's POV

After the kiss I was forced to sleep even though I wasn't tired.I woke up at around 1 am and sat up straight.I was getting stomachaches.The pain was unbearable now and I let out a soft cry.I looked to the side where my wheelchair was placed and reached over.My legs were numb and I couldn't walk even if I tried to.

I rolled it near the bed and sat sideways.I threw the blanket off of me and scooted backwards.A sharp pain ripped through my stomach at the sudden movement.Despite the pain I continued to scoot backwards till I felt the wheelchair's cussion.I let out a sigh of relief but that was short-lived when I felt the wheelchair fly from under me.

I fell on the floor and banged my head.Pain engulfed my body and I let out an ear piercing scream.

Almost instantly my bedroom door burst open and a frantic looking Lucien with a gun looked around the room till his eyes found mine.

"Princess.What the hell happened?"he asked worriedly and crouched down to my level on the floor.Tears clouded my vision and once again pain shooted up my body.

"Ahhh!"I cried out in pain.His hands ran soothingly over the skin of my arms.

"Shhh.It's alright,"he picked me up and sprinted to the elevator.He pushed the button for the third floor and looked down at me.He wiped the tears from my eyes.

"I don't ever want to see you cry,"he said and leaned down to peck my cheek.I snuggled deeper into him and let out a strangled sob.

"It hurts,"I practically scream and he strokes a soothing hand over my hair.

The elevator doors opened and he walked out with me thrashing in his arms.

He opened the door and I saw a medical room.He layed me down on the bed and began looking through  different medical appliances.He took out his phone from his sweatpants and called someone.

"Carrie,get over here.It's an emergency,"he hung up and looked over at me worriedly.

"Here take some sedatives,"he saud and put the pill in my mouth and put the glass to my lips.I gulped down the water slowly, remembering what the doctor said.

"The pain will subside soon and by the time Carrie is here you're gonna be better,okay?"he said and I give a weak nod.

I feel my body get numb and close my eyes.The pain is still there but it's more bearable.Everything felt numb and hazy.It felt as if gravity didn't exist.

Minutes later a woman burst through the door and looked to me then to Lucien.She got right to work by taking out her medical things.

"What's wrong with her?"she asked Lucien.I'm assumed this was Carrie, the doctor.

"She got poisoned.The poison was very dangerous and did damage to her stomach,"he said in a vicious way.I wanted to slap him for talking to her like that.

"You shoud have kept her in the hospital for atleast the night!"Carrie exclaimed and Lucien glared over at her.

"I fucking know that.But did I have another choice when the Russians were planning on kidnapping and killing her?!"he yelled and she looked down.The had no right to be acting this rude, gosh.

"I'm sorry sir,"she said and I looked at her sympathetically.I just had to get used to the fact that Lucien was a mafia boss and didn't treat everyone like he treated certain people.I would personally set his rear on fire if he dared treat me like that.

"I do not tolerate disrespect and you know that of all people.Do not talk to me as you please and do not question me.Now do what you're paid to do, "he threatened and weakly punched his butt.

"C-calm the hell down,"I said drowsily and he let out a breath.

"Okay,you have to step out for a minute.I have to undress her,"Carrie didn't  make eye contact and he nodded and walk out.

"Oh dear,you look terrible,"she said as she lifted up my shirt.I nodded and hiss when she put her hand on my stomach.

She noticed the blood trickling down my forehead and treated it.She wrapped a bandage around my head after she applied the disinfectant.

She took some ointment from the table and applied it to my stomach.She then gave me some pills that makes you sleep.I happily drank it and felt myself drift off into oblivion.
