_" I was in a business trip out of the country, I couldn't come earlier.. I flied as soon as you called" Eliyas said

_"what! You were not in the country!!" I shouted.

He nodded as if it was a matter of fact that needed no question and no surprise.

I just couldn't believe that man!

_"Eliyas, did you come back just because i called you?" I asked both taken aback and burdened.

_"Yes"

_"you could have just told me you were not in the country! I would have spoken with you in the phone__"

_" i didn't come because of you Noursine, don't get that wrong" he soon interrupted me.

He leaned on his desk, closed his eyes, and while exhaling he said:

_"ever since the accident, i started to have this terror.. And this regret, i have to keep an eye on you all the time and i have to come as soon as possible when you need me to, i have to do that or else i'll go crazy"

Hearing those words from the man who never cared about anything i really felt sad.

I know all about uncontrollable terror.

In the past years i never wondered how Eliyas felt when he found me lying unconscious inside the room drawn in my own blood, i didn't even ask my self how it was hurting to him to be accused of killing his own son and almost killing me.

I always felt regret for not being able to call for help when i fell down although deep down i knew that no help no matter how early it was could have helped saving my son. So how terrible it must be for him to know that he just gave us his back and didn't even try.

I didn't know the impact of that accident on him until i heard such words, and i had no idea if that was the only aftermath that he had.
_"shouldn't you see a doctor about this?" I said concerned.

He opened his eyes to look at me.. And totally ignored my advice saying:

_"what happened with you earlier Noursine? Why were you crying?"

Seeing that he didn't want to talk about the matter any further, i just respected his wish and so i asked:

_" do you remember my mother's second marriage?"

He stood up properly in front of me as if getting guarded .. And then he said while twisting his eyebrows:

_" i do, you said you don't want to meet her again"

I sighed.. I tried to put my pride aside and i admitted:

_"it's not about not wanting to meet her again, i would have went to see her secretly if i could, it was actually that i had no clue about her before, i had no idea where she was__"

_"are you serious?" He interrupted me again, looking very displeased.

Such an unnecessary question.. Of course i was dead serious!

There i was emptying my heart content to him and the first thing he thinks about was that i was throwing a joke!

_"why would i joke about such a thing?" I asked mockingly.

But his next actions surprised me even more.

He just walked pass me to the door.. I thought he was going out.

He turned on the lights making the office look so bright my eyes stung.. I thought he just didn't like the dimly light.

He came back towards me with an angry face.. And that is when i realised that i had absolutely no idea about what was going on inside that unpredictable man's head.
