GUYS WHAT 400 READS? I LOVE ALL OF YOU BEYOND WORDS THANK YOU!

trigger warning- sexually assault, blood

"what did you do?!" beck screamed at her climbing into the car as she stood outside sobbing like a maniac.

good thing there was no one else around because if there had been they both would've been in big trouble.

beck scrambled into the car and immediately put his hand on the mans wrist. and then on his neck.

"no pulse" he reported after a few seconds. he glanced back to see jade in a ball on the concrete. shaking aggressively.

he jumped out of the car and put his hand on her.

"hey hey hey jade? look you need to tell me what happened? i cant help if i don't know." he tried to say with a soothing voice but his eyes screamed panic.

between heavy sobs she looked up at him,

"i just- he tried to-... he wanted to take advantage of me and i-.... and the baby- and cat- and you... and i can't do this anymore!" she screamed loudly. tears falling from her eyes freely. it was the kind of heavy sob that made you shake. it made your head hurt and your brain pulse. to the point where your lips were red and you couldn't see through the tears in your eyes.

"wh-... what- what happened to the baby jade?" beck asked suddenly getting a gut wrenching feeling.

"it- it died beck. i didn't—... it didn't- it just died" she almost yelled at him. she wasn't being intentionally loud but it was what came out. and she could care less about how stupid she sounded right now.

"oh my god jade. it's ok. it's ok deep breaths. it's gonna be ok. i love you so much." he replied trying to sound as rationally as possible. but those last words cut her cries off like a knife.

she turned to him, with burning red eyes,

"you don't love me beck we broke up. you feel bad for me. you had second, third, and hundredth chances" she lectured him.

"this loves been balancing on breaking branches" she continued, seeing the hurt in his eyes. those fucking eyes. always adding in salt to injury. but she didn't care. because she couldn't do this again. not again.

"but jade listen-" he broke in.

"no there's no listen beck. i think i've seen this film before. and i didn't like the ending. i'm not your problem anymore, so who are you defending now?" with each word her voice rose. but she didn't have the energy to fight him right now. she didn't have the energy for anything right now.

he looked down at his shoes, suddenly remembering the dead man in the car.

"jade you need to leave" he warned looking back at her.

"screw you i'm not going anywhere-" she rose one eyebrow at him.

"no jade we both have to leave. and fast. this man here, you you killed him. and if the police find him soon you will be charged with murder and be put in jail for a long long time. and i'll be an accomplice. so what we both need is to leave." he explained standing up. she didn't stand up next to him.

"NOW jade! you kind of killed someone we have to go!" he pushed the direction.

"i- i killed him." she echoed.

"y- yes... you did." he replied grabbing her wrist and pulling her to a standing position.

"but we can worry about the whole problem of why later. right now we need to run. where can we lay low?" he asked her starting to walk around the corner.

"cats house. no one will be home and i know the keypad combination." she replied snapping her fingers. he nodded in agreement and they set off on the walk to cats house. leaving behind a newly dead man. well, a newly murdered man.

not many words were exchanged on the long walk. it was awkward and very silent.

"look jade-" beck finally said.

"look beck." she replied mocking him.

"all this time, we've always walked a very thin line. i never learned to read your mind" he went on.

"ya no shit" she murmured.

"but you never gave a warning sign." he continued.

"i gave so many signs beck!" she sighed back at him loudly, almost whining in her voice.

"i never turned things around" she said after a short silence.

she never really admitted her faults so beck almost gasped, but held himself back.

only seconds later the sky got darker. the clouds opened up and pellets of rain came hurdling down on the two.

"fuck everything" jade rolled her eyes.

their wet hair fell into limp locks on their shoulders and jade shuddered in the coldness of the water. beck stole a glimpse of her and quickly removed his jacket and placed it on her shoulders. she pushed it off.

"no you need this it's cold i'll be ok" she persisted. no matter how hard he tried she wouldn't take it. so he wrapped it around himself agains, discouraged.

"why today?" she whined looking up at the sky.

"hey it's not that bad. rain can be fun!" he said a small smile on his face.

"not now it can't be" she grumbled.

"sure it can cmon" he laughed taking her hand and pulling her in.

"ok woah there take it easy" she laughed slightly. he guided her through a waltz as she threw her head back laughing like a little kid.

he twirled her in and out smiling bigger then he had in days.

"it's so... wet!" she screamed laughing, pushing her hair back.

he suddenly got an evil idea and came up behind her, scooping her up marriage style.

"beck, no! no!" she laughed as he spun around, her in his arms.

it was nice to laugh. for both of them. and for just a minute neither of them were worried. they didn't feel the pressure to make out or anything. or the silence of being around an ex. the were co-existing peacefully and having fun doing it.

the wet smile on her face made him laugh, and she missed the feeling of true happiness. with no pressure.
