Fire

Pawis na pawis akong napabalikwas ng bangon when I dreamt that all of my works are gone and burned. I turned the lights on at inilibot ang paningin sa kwarto and I saw my notebooks are there including my new published book. I walk through it and count, still no one's gone.

"It's just a dream." I whispered and depth sighed. Then I sleep again pero binabangungot ako. My masterpieces are crying and they spoke that I will never let them buried.

Weird!

I went downstairs to drink a water pero nasa kalagitnaan palang ako ng hagdanan when I heard my parents having an argue. They fight in a midnight, again.

"Axel, Lea wants to be a writer! Kita mo namang nagpupursigi siya di ba?" I heard mom uttered. I sighed when I notice that I'm still the reason on every argue happens. I'm an only child of them. At kahit anong sigaw nila,neighbors can't hear dahil naka soundproof.

"But Sofia, gusto kong siya ang susunod sa yapak ko. I want her to handle our company! Ang talino ng anak natin and I'm sure she can raise it!" Nagpatuloy lang sila without knowing that I am listening. Ang sakit sa dibdib na pinag-aawayan nila ang maging kinabukasan ko. Pero doon na tumulo ang luha ko when I heard Dad spoke those kind of words. It can't be!

"I will burn all of her masterpiece." He will burn it? Kaya ba nananaginip ako ng ganoon? Para lang sa gusto niya, sisirain niya ang buhay ko? The hardworks that I've been applied since I'm a kid and now, I am going to be a professional writer, kukunin niya?

Ang sakit Dad, it's not you...

"Try to burn my masterpiece Dad at baka mabibigla ka lang isang araw when you wake up that Lea is dead." Sulpot ko and seriously, I said it while tears can't escape in my eyes. My masterpiece is my life. At kung mawala man ang daan-daang sinulat ko ay para na ding kinitil ang buhay ko. That's why it's better to die than to watch them become an ash because of a fire.
