I swore not to write another word
That will be a part of a lover's letter,
Yet here I am writing another
Poetry I'd never have the courage to give to you.
I swore not to look into your bright eyes
That reflects the times that I spent with you.
Yet here I am, gazing at you dreamily
And can't stop myself in enjoying your company.
I swore to turn away from you
For I know you don't feel the same,
Yet upon the stars I'm still wishing
That you'll catch me now that I'm falling.
I swore to embrace reality,
Accept that you are not my destiny,
Yet on false promises I still hold on,
For it hurts to admit that you were long gone.
I swore to bury memories of you
For I know you won't ever come back,
Yet I still hope upon wishful luck
That you'll feel the same way I do.
