Y/n pov

We were on our way to Hagrid's hut to find out as much as we could about the stone. We knocked on the door quickly because it was way past curfew at this point. Hagrid opened the door slowly and poked his head out. "Sorry bu' I'm not able to en'ertain today," he said trying to close the door. "WE KNOW ABOUT THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE!" me, Harry, Hermione, and Ron screamed in unison. "Oh...well - er - come in," he said awkwardly. I heard a rattling from the fire and took a look. I silently gasped at the sight of a dragon egg sitting in a cauldron over the fire. That's not just any dragon egg though. It's a Norwegian Ridgeback.

"Ooh ooh ooh...hot," Hagrid mumbled carrying it over to a table of wood. Probably not the best place to put a dragon that can breath fire but oh well. "Hagrid? What is that?" Harry asked timidly. "I know what that is!" Ron gasped. "But Hagrid? How'd you get one?" I asked. "Won it off a stranger at the pub a few nigh's ago. Seemed pretty glad to get rid o' it matter o' fact," Hagrid answered. "A Norwegian Ridgeback," I whispered as the head poked out of the hole in the egg. I started making circular movements in the and booped it's nose. He leaned into my touch so I kept playing with him. "How are you doing that? I remember reading about these types of dragons. They are meant to be aggressive and cruel!" Hermione was very impressed. Everyone was, but Ron by far the most.

"My brother Charlie works with dragons. Although they're always mean so I don't know how you can play with one," Ron said exasperated. I chuckled and kept playing with him. "There yeh are Norbert!" "Norbert?" Harry questioned Hagrid. "Well he's gon' need a name won' he?" Hagrid responded in a "duh" sort of tone. Harry nodded and watched the dragon. Norbert sneezed and Hagrid's beard caught fire. He started patting it down with his oven mitt. "Who's tha'?" Hagrid asked looking out the window. I could see that platinum blondie from a mile away with that hair. "Malfoy," Harry and I whispered venomously.

We ran to the castle trying not to get in trouble. We were greeted by Professor McGonagall with the ferret himself. Ron, Harry, and Hermione were conversing about something but I wasn't paying attention. I was fuming with anger. "Good evening," McGonagall leads us to her classroom before lecturing us.

"Nothing, I repeat, nothing, gives a student permission to go wondering around the castle at night. As such 50 points will be taken by each of you," McGonagall started sternly. "50?!" Harry shouted. I looked over at the ferret who had smug grin on his face. I wanted to slam him into a wall and break his nose. "You five will also be attending detention tomorrow evening," McGonagall continued. I smirked. Malfoy didn't seem to notice anything wrong with this. "Umm Malfoy you seem a bit....calm," I started, now coughing trying to cover up my laugh. "What do you mean?" He must not have any clue whatsoever that he will also be attending detention.

"How many Slytherins are there?" I asked in my sweetest voice. "1, obviously. I'm not stupid," he answered. "Clearly," my voice laced with sarcasm. "And...uh...how many Gryffindors?" I asked, again, quite sweetly. "4, why?" he really is a knucklehead. "I know your a pureblood and everything, but do you not know simple math?" I sniggered. "You will also be attending detention tomorrow evening Mr. Malfoy," I said in my best McGonagall impression. She scowled at me, though, I could see her hiding a smile.

"Maybe Gryffindor, here, is mistaken Professor. She thinks I'll be attending detention as well," he scoffed. "No, Mr. Malfoy, Ms. Gryffindor was quite right. As honorable as your intentions were, you, too, were out of bed," Professor McGonagall smiled slightly. He looked absolutely stunned and his smirk was replaced with a grumpy frown. "What's the matter Malfoy. Daddy isn't going to be happy to hear you were stalking Gryffindors. Even though I am dashing," I flipped my hair dramatically. "That is quite enough Ms. Gryffindor. Now, off to bed. All of you." McGonagall turned into her bedroom for the rest of the night.

Time skip

"Sad they let the old punishments die down. Used to tie 'em up by the thumbs. I miss the screamin'," Filch said probably trying to scare us. It wasn't working for me but to the others? Well let's just say I had to hold Ron and Harry's hands like 5 year olds. I rolled my eyes as we headed to Hagrid's hut. He was sniffling and sobbing slightly. "They took Norbert to Romainia," Hagrid cries. "At least he'll be with his own kind," Hermione says probably trying to lighten his mood. It didn't work. "Yea' bu', what if he don' like Romainia. He's onl' a baby after all." "Good god man. You're going into the Dark Forest. Get yourself together," Filch snarled.

"Come on Hagrid. Don't let the human troll bother you," I whispered in his ear. He chuckled a bit and stood up. "Yer right. Come on then!" he said enthusiastically. "The forest? I thought that was a joke! Students aren't allowed in the forest! Plus, there are," there was a howl from the distance. "Werewolves," Malfoy finished shaking slightly. I rolled my eyes. "If you want I can hold your hand you big baby," I teased, but it looked like he was considering. "It was a joke. I don't want to touch those clammy hands of yours." That was close.

We headed towards the forest and stopped in front of a shiny liquid. "Is that-" "what we came for. This here is unicorn blood. Found one dead couple weeks back. Reckon this one has been badly injured," Hagrid finished for me. My face was probably filled with terror. Why would anyone want to slain something so pure. "He'mione an' Ron, yeh'll be comin' wit' me. Malfoy and Harry will be goin' with y/n," Hagrid instructed. "Y/n will also be in charge of yeh two boys," he added and mouthed 'Good luck'. I laughed a little. "Fine! Then we get Fang!" Malfoy ordered. "Fine. But he's a bloody coward," I responded and we headed off.

"My FaThEr WiLl HeAr AbOuT tHiS. This is servants' work," complained Malfoy, who was literally hugging me from behind shaking. "If I didn't know any better, Draco, I'd say your scared," Harry teased. "Scared, Pottah?" "Hey, at least he's not clinging onto someone in the dark, spooky forest. Ooooh," I retorted. He finally gained back his composure and and stood on his own. I rolled my eyes. Fang started barking, all of the sudden, and Malfoy screamed and ran away. I looked up to see a cloaked figure drinking the blood from a unicorn. I turned and saw Harry clutching his scar in pain. It saw us and started approaching us slowly picking up speed. I covered myself over Harry trying to protect him from whatever that thing was. Apparently, Harry had other ideas because he pulled himself from under me to cover me. How sweet. No y/n. This is dangerous situation stop thinking like that! I internally scolded.

I could here hooves approaching us. A centaur scared away the cloaked creature and turned to us. "Hello Firenze," I mumbled. He was always the one to take me back to the castle when I wondered into the forest for fun. "Y/n. Why are you out here again? I won't always be able to save you, you know," he said, but it honestly sounded like he was happy to see me. "Detention. And the albino ferret," I muttered. Since I'm great with all animals I've made some good friends with all the creatures. That's why it made me even more sad that the unicorns were disappearing.

"Ahh. Mr. Harry Potter. You are known by most creatures here. Mainly from her," he jabbed a finger at me and I rolled my eyes. "It is not safe for you here, especially at this time of night." "What was that thing that was drinking the unicorn blood?" Harry asked timidly. "That was a monstrous creature. It is one thing to slay something so pure but drinking it's blood will give you a half life. A cursed life," Firenze answered. "Who would choose such a life?" Harry asked. "Can you think of no one?" I glanced at him expectantly. "You mean that thing, was...Voldemort?"Harry's voice shaking slightly. "Do you know what's hidden in that school right now Mr. Potter?" "The Philosopher's Stone," we said in unison.

"Evenin' Firenze! I see you have met Mr. and Mrs. Potter-" Hagrid cut himself off. "I mean Mr. Potter and Ms. Gryffindor." I could feel myself turn pink and I already knew Harry was as red as a tomato. Firenze chuckled and turned back to me and Harry. "You are safe now. Good night," he said before galloping into the forest. How cute. The teachers here even ship me and Harry together.
