I teleported to Dumbledore's office and was waiting for his return from breakfast. Today was the first day of auror testing whilst attending classes. I don't need to be there considering I learned most of the skills over summer very quickly. It was exhausting, yes, but worth it. If I pass the testing this month I will be an official auror junior. (a/n I've always liked women leadership so this is a great way to be powerful against men) "Ahh! Ms. Gryffindor. It's nice of you to join me on this fine morning. You will be being tested today in the Forbidden Forest. There are obstacles you must face and move past to pass. There are centaurs, hippogriffs, dragons, and other magical creatures you must tame to get past. You have half an hour to prepare," Dumbledore explained. I nodded and took a deep breath. Magical Creatures is first. I took a deep breath and did some cramming in the half hour I was given.
I switched my clothes into something more flexible for this course, knowing I'd probably need it. "Ms. Gryffindor? Are you ready?" Professor Dumbledore asked. "Yes sir. To the forest!" I announced dramatically. I laughed a little and Dumbledore chuckled. We entered the forest to be greeted by Hagrid. "Hey there y/n! A few las' minu'e restrictions. Yeh will have 1 hour to get pas' my creatures and centaurs. Ready?" Hagrid asked. I nodded and stood in a running stance. "Go!" Hagrid announced.
I raced through the forest to first find Cerberus. I bet he's been told by Hagrid to not go easy on me because when I stood in front of him he growled and lashed his teeth. He slashed my leg and a searing pain shot through my body. I wished it would stop hurting, then it did. I no longer saw the wound. I'm gonna have to ask Dumbledore about this later. I hummed a soothing tune and Cerberus was out like a light. I looked at my watch, 5 minutes gone. I ran further into the forest to be greeted by a ginormous spider. I used my metamorphic abilities to turn into a basilisk. The spiders fled and I continued forward. I was walking silently when I heard a twig break. I looked around me and found myself surrounded by centaurs. I used my agility to dodge arrows and slip into the crowd of the half horses. I found a hippogriff I've been friends with for years, Buckbeak. I bowed and the hippogriff charged and nuzzled into my neck. "Hey Bucky! I've got to get going. You can come if you'd like!" I offered. He nodded and trailed behind me. I heard some rustling in the bushes and spotted black fur. Snuffles. "Snuffles! Get your arse out here!" I yelled. He came out and followed me and Bucky to our next obstacle. A dementor. This isn't even an animal! Why is this here? I thought to myself. Snuffles whimpered in fright. "Expecto patronum," I recited in my head. We continued and found a dragon. I heard Snuffles whimper again and Bucky got in front of me protectively. I looked closely and saw that it was Norbert. I looked closer and realized Norbert is Norberta! I whistled for her attention to turn to me. I waved at her and she sighed in happiness. She bent down for me to get on her back, so she could fly me back to the front of the forest. I climbed onto her back and we flew over the trees and landed right in front of Dumbledore and Hagrid who were applauding. I bowed dramatically and cleaned myself up. "45 minutes! Impressive," Dumbledore praised before he handed me the time turner and I was off, back in time, to get to Divination.
I teleported to the topmost tower where the Divination classroom was located. "When'd you get here?" Ron asked Mione who was at a different table. "Me? I've been here! Oh look! Y/n's sitting all alone...I should go sit with her," Hermione answered. "Smooth, Mione, smooth," I whispered to her sarcastically. "Oh shut up! How'd your training go?" Mione asked me. I only told her it was training because if I told her I was being tested she'd make sure I study. A lot. And I'd like to spend third year not in a library thank you. "It went well," I told her not wanting to get to in depth. She must've taken notice because she didn't ask anything else.
I was thinking about my next test, that would be next week, while looking at Hermione's tea leaves. I was interrupted by Professor Trelawney's yelp. She was over at Harry and Ron's table looking at Harry's tea cup. "I bet she's going all dramatic because Harry has 'the grim'," I laughed teasingly. "Do not laugh dear child! He has been presented with the grim!" Trelawney says. "Wow! Next thing you know Ron's gonna get dragged into the Whomping Willow!" I laughed. Hermione giggled along side me. "The grim is the darkest of all omens in the world. The omen of death," a boy in the back read from the book.
Time skip
"Use your inner eye to see the future!" Hermione mocked Professor Trelawney's voice. "Divination is a load of rubbish. Ancient Runes, on the other hand, is fascinating!" Hermione exclaimed. "Wait a second. Divination and Ancient Runes are at the same time!" Ron realized. You idiot! You're gonna blow your cover! I scolded Hermione in her head. She glared at me then continued with the conversation. "Honestly, Ronald! How do you expect me to go to two classes at once!" Hermione spoke louder than a normal talking voice but not quite a yell yet.
We reached Hagrid's hut with our Book of Monsters at hand. "Come on! Follow me! Little less talkin' if yeh don' mind!" Hagrid beckoned us to the forest. Once we came to a small clearing I recognized it immediately. Buckbeak's cave isn't far from here. "Now open up your books to page 49!" Hagrid instructed. "And how exactly are we supposed to do that?" Malfoy asked snappily. "Just stroke the spine you twerp!" I told him. He glared at me and followed my directions. "A little thank you would be nice," I teased. He only glared harder. "Alright! Now you have yer books, I'll go get the creature!" Hagrid announced.
"I think they're funny," Hermione commented. I nodded in agreement. "Oh yeah! Terribly funny! Really witty! God this place has gone down to the dogs! Wait til my father hears that Dumbledore's got this oaf teaching classes!" Malfoy snapped. "Shut up, Malfoy!" Harry stepped in. "Oooh who oooh who oooh," Malfoy hooted. I burst out laughing. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy so I elaborated. "You think owl noises will intimidate Harry? He has an owl!" I started to laugh even harder. Now all the Gryffindors were howling with laughter. Mainly at Malfoy's flushed face.
Hagrid cleared his throat and out came Buckbeak. He sprinted towards me and everyone screamed in fright and moved away from me. Harry stuck by my side though. "Hey Bucky! How are you buddy?" I asked him while stroking his feathers. Everyone watched in awe while Hagrid explained what Buckbeak was and what he can do. "Who'd like to go first?" Hagrid asked excitedly. Everyone stepped back except Harry and I. Ron pushed us forward while Buckbeak was still leaning into my touch. "Great job, Harry. Now just take a nice low bow," Hagrid instructed. Buckbeak returned to Hagrid's side as Harry bowed but Buckbeak started to have a fit.
I stepped in front of Harry and calmed down the hippogriff. It's ok Bucky. Harry's my friend. Well, boyfriend. You can trust him, I told him in his head. He nodded and I got out of Bucky's view. Now he focused on Harry. Harry bowed again and this time Bucky bowed too. "Nice job, Harry! Now I think he'll let yeh pet 'im!" Hagrid exclaimed. Harry moved closer to Buckbeak but Bucky jumped slightly back. I noticed Ron and Hermione holding hands. I am so teasing them later. Bucky looked at me and I nodded. He calmed down and let Harry touch him.
"Right! Well then! I think yeh should be able to ride 'im now!" Hagrid said picking up Harry onto to Buckbeak. I teleported myself in front of Harry onto Buckbeak. Harry was trying to get off while I kicked Bucky's side and he started running and flew into the sky. "Dragons are a lot more comfortable," I muttered. "Dragons?!" Harry asked surprised. "I never said dragons! Harry, I think you're hearing things!" I told him. He was gripping my waist and put his head on my shoulder. "Whatever you say, princess," he whispered. I spread my arms open like I was flying and started to cheer. Harry did the same thing and let go of my waist and distanced his head from my ear so he could cheer loudly too.
We circled the class once before landing. All the students were clapping except for the Slytherins. What a shocker. Note the sarcasm. Anyway, once we landed Harry and Hagrid were talking together a bit before I noticed the white ferret approaching Bucky. "You're not dangerous at all are you? You great, ugly brute!" Malfoy insulted. Buckbeak attacked him and scraped his arm. I rolled my eyes. "He's killed meh! He's killed meh!" he screamed clutching onto his arm. "I wish," I muttered to which Harry must have heard because he chuckled. "Hagrid! He has to be taken to the hospital wing!" Mione told him. "I'll do it! You need to help the class get back to the castle!" I volunteered. Harry looked at me in shock, as did the rest of the students. Hagrid looked at me gratefully.
I used my telepathy to carry him while he continued to whine. "You'll regret this! You and your bloody chicken!" Malfoy warned. "Shut up you twat! It's a scratch! You're absolutely fine! Your lucky I didn't send Buckbeak on a full blown attack! If you had listened to Hagrid you wouldn't be in this position!" I yelled at him. I heard someone say, "That's why she volunteered to help him! To yell at him!" Many others came to this realization too because there was a lot of 'oh's. I rolled my eyes and kept screaming at the ferret boy. "You're even more stupid than a loaf of bread. That went stale. And is covered in mold!" I shouted making his cries stop and for him to shut up.
