y/n's pov
After Harry told us about the Black Theory, is what I'm calling it, we started talking about possibilities. "Let me get this straight. Sirius Black...escaped Azkaban...to come after you?" Ron asked timidly. "Yeah," Harry muttered. I put a comforting hand on his shoulder and gave it a secure squeeze. He smiled slightly which is better than nothing. "But they'll catch Black won't they? I mean everyone's looking for him," Hermione added. "Sure! Except no one's escaped Azkaban before and Black is a murderous raving, lunatic," Ron said. "Seriously?" I asked rhetorically. "Thanks, Ron," Harry said sarcastically. He leaned closer to me and lied his head on my shoulder as I absentmindedly started playing with his hair.
The train stopped, suddenly and everything started rocking slightly. "Why are we stopping? We can't be there yet," me and Hermione pointed out in unison. "Stop doing that!" Ron exclaimed. Me and Hermione rolled our eyes in, once again, unison. Harry got up to check the hallway. I scooted closer to Remmy as the train jerked Harry back into his seat. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it reassuringly. Now if it was for me or him I couldn't tell. "What's going on?" Ron asked panicked. "Don't know. Maybe we've broken down," Harry suggested. "We go to a magical school! I don't think the train would break down!" I muttered to myself. Something bad is going to happen and I can feel it. My wand was secure in my boot, so I took a hold of it.
The lights went out and all you could hear was heavy breathing and Hermione complaining to Ron, "Ouch, Ron! That was my foot!" The lights flickered on again. Ron's face was against the window and instead of apologizing he said, "There's something moving out there!" I inhaled and exhaled. Hopefully it's nothing to bad. Then the lights went out. Again. "I think...something's coming on board," Ron whispered. We had now stopped completely and Harry was now putting his arm around me protectively. It started to get really cold and depressing. Dementors. There was another jerk and this one freaked Ron out. "Bloody hell! What's happening!" Ron yelped. "I have a hunch," I muttered.
Not long after I said that a black cloaked figure came into view. Ok y/n you got this. The patronus is the easiest part of your training. Deep breaths and think happy thoughts, I thought to myself. The dementor's bony fingers opened the door and was now standing in the doorway. "We aren't hiding Sirius Black under any of our cloaks! You may leave!" I announced, but the dementor took an interest on Harry and started to try and suck out his soul. "Expecto Patronum," I recited calmly and let my beautiful doe take the hit of the dementor. Once the dementor left I looked at Harry and realized he had passed out. "Pretty good for only two months of training," a voice behind me praised. "Once Harry's awake, we're gonna have to talk," I told Remmy through gritted teeth. He cowered slightly but nodded.
Harry woke up about 10 minutes later looking around. I handed him his glasses, "Thanks," he said. "Here eat this. It's chocolate. It'll help," Remmy handed him some chocolate. "I need to speak to the director," Remmy excused himself. "Yeah! Go ahead, run! But I'm disappointed that you didn't tell me about this job offer," I told him in fake offense. He rolled his eyes. "Don't roll your eyes at me!" I told him. "Yes ma'am," he said quickly and looking at the floor before leaving to see the director. "Ma'am?" Harry, Hermione, and Ron asked at the same time. "Yeah. That's Nini's boyfriend. He's scared of me and he's like an older brother," I explained. They nodded in understanding.
"What happened to me?" Harry asked. "Well you went rigid. We thought you were having a fit or something. Well, me and Hermione thought you were. Y/n was getting rid of the...the thing," Ron explained. "What was that thing?" Harry asked. "That was a dementor. Worst creatures to ever walk the face of the world," I answered. "And before you ask, no one else passed out. I'm pretty sure everyone felt like they would never be happy again though," I added. Ron and Hermione nodded in agreement. "Wait. How'd you get rid of the dementor?" Harry asked. "A spell I learned in my-" I stopped myself before revealing too much. "Where'd you learn it?" Harry tried. "From a book," I answered. "I've got to go change into my robes. Mione, coming?" I asked her. She nodded.
"Okay spill. What were you doing all summer that was top secret?" Hermione asked once we were out of earshot from the boys. "You have to promise me that you won't tell anyone else about this," I demanded before I continued. She nodded. "You have my word." "Okay. I've been training to be an auror since the beginning of summer. I know I'm young and all but Dumbledore knows I can handle it. I'm being trained by Nini and Dumbledore. I also will be using a time turner so I make it to classes because I'll be finishing my training this year," I explained. "That's amazing y/n!" Hermione cheered. I laughed a little. We made it to the changing rooms and changed.
When we returned to the carriage, Harry and Ron in their robes too. I smiled to myself looking at how cute Harry looks in his robes. He patted the seat next to him for me to sit. I obliged and he put his head on my lap and I again started to play with his hair absentmindedly. Since there was nothing else going on it didn't go unnoticed by Ron or Hermione. "What's this about? I saw the affection at the Leaky Cauldron too," Hermione questioned. "You'd have to ask Harry. He hasn't made anything official but we have confessed. Last year at the station he accidentally called me babe. His face flushed and it was adorable," I explained. "Would you make me the happiest scarhead and be my girlfriend?" Harry asked dramatically. I laughed a little before responded. "Of course, Mr. Potter," I said in a posh tone. Ron and Hermione laughed at our antics before we moved onto other random topics.
Harry's pov
I can't believe it. It finally happened. Y/n is my girlfriend. My girlfriend. I still can't wrap my head around it. Y/n was carelessly playing with my hair while talking about random stuff with Ron and Hermione. I couldn't be happier. I loved her hands raking through my messy locks of hair. Once we stopped at the Hogsmeade station, I missed the contact of y/n's hands in my hair. I wrapped my arm around her shoulders carelessly while she was having a conversation with Mione. I heard Mione giggle at this action, but I couldn't careless. I finally had my true love at my side.
Once we entered the carriages Hermione and Ron took the seats across from me and y/n. She rested my head on her shoulder, my arm now around her shoulders. She moved her arm around my torso as she held out a conversation. "You getting comfortable mate?" Ron asked me teasingly. I flushed red. I could feel it. Y/n and Hermione giggled at my reddened face and Ron just burst out laughing. I tried to cover up my face but y/n stopped me. "Don't cover it up, love. It's cute," y/n cooed making Hermione 'aww' and Ron to fake gag. "Shove off Ron!" I exclaimed but laughed a little.
Small time skip
I was sitting at the Gryffindor table, y/n across from me and next to Hermione while Ron sat next to me, waiting for the sorting to end so I could eat. "Psst!" I heard from behind me, but I ignored it. "Pottah! POTTAH!" someone whisper shouted. I finally turned around to be greeted by the evil face of Malfoy. "Is it true you fainted? I mean you actually fainted?" Malfoy teased while one of his goons pretended to faint. "Is it true you're a bitch? I mean an actual bitch?" y/n retorted. "Aww, look. Pottah needs his girlfriend to defend him," Malfoy taunted. "At least he has one. Where's yours?" y/n snapped. Malfoy looked stunned. He didn't have a comeback and it was clear in his face. "My fa-" he started. "'My father will hear about this' yeah, yeah, yeah, we get it. You're a daddy's boy. Move on!" y/n finished. She kinda shouted the last part and was shhed by half of the Great Hall.
"Shove off, Malfoy," Ron finished this little affair and pulled my shoulder to face the girls. "How'd he find out?" I asked. "Don't worry about it, babe. He's just jealous people actually like you for you while people like him for money," y/n explained softly. I laughed a little and we continued to watch the sorting.
"Welcome, welcome to another year here at Hogwarts!" Dumbledore announced. "Now I'd like to say a few words before we all become too befuddled by our excellent feast. First, I'm pleased to welcome Professor R. J. Lupin who's kindly contended to fill the post of Defence Against the Dark Arts," Dumbledore continued. Everyone applauded the new professor then quieted once again. "Good luck, professor. Our previous Care for Magical Creatures professor has decided to retire to spend as much time as he can with his remaining limbs," Dumbledore carried on. A few laughs here and there at the previous comment but once again settled down. "To take his place is our one and only Rubeus Hagrid!" Everyone was cheering. Not as loud or excited as Gryffindor but way more than Slytherin. "On a more serious note, from Ministry request, there will be dementors guarding the entrances of the school until Black is caught. Dementors are not known to have a forgiving nature so do not do anything that may upset them. But remember, happiness can be found in the darkest of times, only if one remembers to turn on the light. Thank you and now tuck in!" The whole hall cheered as Dumbledore sat down and started to eat his meal. This year is going to be interesting.
