y/n's pov

As the summer was about to end, and the breeze of fall creeped in, I sat on my window sill. It was very spacious and could probably fit about 3 people. I watched as the moon was shining in my room. It covered my banners of the Holyhead Harpies right above my bed which was a beautiful scarlet. My bookshelf in the corner, with my father's picture on it, was shimmering in the light. Oh how I missed him.

My father was a well known auror who had helped weaken Voldemort. He died the night the Potters were attacked. Since then Harry had become my childhood best friend. He was my only friend.

I looked at the clock which read 11:45pm. I raced downstairs and got my broomstick. I was about to be late for my best friend's birthday. Whenever I picked Harry up from the Dursleys on his birthday, we would fly in circles and marvel at the city below. He loves it. Afterwards he would come into my room and wait for me to retrieve his present. He acts like he owns the place for about 2 minutes before I tease him with a "Well oh mighty king! Your broomstick is waiting for you to return to your peasant home."

I made it just in time to see the raven haired boy with round glasses and beautiful emerald green eyes, smile at me.

Harry's pov

I see y/n with her broomstick outside smiling her wonderful bright smile. "You're 45 seconds late," I tease her. She looks me up and down.

"That should've given you more time to consider your outfit," she responded in a sassy tone.

The way y/n's h/l h/c hair blew in the wind, with her beautiful e/c eyes, made me smile from ear to ear. Something about her was different this time. I was snapped out of my trance when she started entering my room. Her beautiful smile dropped from her face when she looked at my messy room. There were wrappers everywhere. In a corner was a pile of Dudley's hand-me-down clothes. I rubbed the back of my neck and glanced at y/n nervously.

"I wasn't expecting visitors," I said trying not to sound like I didn't care. Y/n looked around the room again but this time she laughed.

"Maybe instead of buying you a gift, I should give you a room cleaning," she smirked clearly holding in her laughter.

"Let's just go!" I say as I hop on her broom.

"Hey, hey, hey," I heard y/n say, "no driving for the birthday boy. It's way to much work." I knew that was an excuse so she could drive the broomstick. She didn't trust me controlling magical objects because I never lived around it. I only had the Dursleys to raise me. Of course with the weekly escapes with y/n. I don't know what life would be like if I didn't have her.

y/n's pov

As me and Harry soar above Privet Drive I decide to drop a little to give him a scare. When I dropped about 25 feet, he grabbed my waist and didn't let go. I found myself blushing severely and just decided to keep riding. We arrived at my small cottage that was about 15 minutes away from Harry's so called home. He climbed through my bedroom window and sat on my bed. I followed Harry through my window. "Now," Harry started, "I demand some cake for this mighty king's grumbling stomach!" My mother and I always bought Harry a cake for his birthday. I went downstairs and got 2 slices of cake. 1 for me and 1 for Harry. I started to head upstairs when 2 letters shot into my kitchen. I noticed an owl flying away into the darkness, so I assumed it was something for my mom's wizard job. They were addressed Ms. Jackson and Mr. Potter, so I brought the cake and the letters upstairs to my bedroom.

There was 2 voices quietly talking in my bedroom. "Again, happy birthday Harry, but you really should tell y/n how you feel." I knew my mother had woken up to talk to Harry. The last bit of the conversation left me confused but I brushed it off.

"Hi mom! I didn't realize you were awake. I would've gotten you a slice," I say as I enter the room. "No worries, honey. I'm not that hungry anyway," she responded. Before leaving she glanced at Harry. There was an awkward silence.

"I have a letter for you Harry," I told him giving Harry the letter. I watched him open it. I start to open mine. Once I had taken it out, it read:

Dear Ms. Jackson,

It is with great pleasure to tell you that you have been excepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Your list of supplies are listed on a separate sheet of parchment. Please take Mr. Potter with you when you pick up your supplies. I expect a confirmation letter no later then July 31st.

Deputy Headmistress

Minerva Mcgonagall

When I looked up from my letter Harry's face lit up like a light bulb. Before I took Harry back to the Dursleys, we quickly sent our confirmation letters. Me and Harry were going to Hogwarts.
