"Adri! How are you calling me? Aren't you supposed to be on a plane?" She asked me surprised
"In a bit. I decided to call you before I leave." I said to her.
"Cool! So what's up?" She asked me.
"Nothing.." I said quietly.
"What's up with the mellow tone?" She asked.
"I don't know. I'm still a little... a little iffy about this whole internship." I said hesitantly.
"Girl! You're going to Brazil! Not to mention the fact that you'll be surrounded by really hot-6 pack abs- shirtless guys playing soccer." She said. I can almost visualize her grinning. That was Tara for you.
"Oh shut up. You have Chris and you know I'm not going for that. I'm not in the mood for heartbreak. And plus, I know no one there. It'll be so lonely." I said. You know the saying when you're in a crowded room but you feel lonely. That's how I feel going to Brazil.
"Adri, it's been 2 years. You can't let that asshole affect you. Go there. Do your stuff. But don't forget to open yourself up and forget your past. The past is meant to be left there. Not constantly be reminded of." She explained.
I sighed. "Whatever. But I'm there for an internship so that's what my mindset will be to."
"You're impossible." She said giggling. "Fine then. But promise me one thing."
"What?"
"Have fun, okay?" She said softly.
"Alright. I'll talk to you soon Tara. Love you T. Kiss Xander for me, and bother Chris for me." I said smiling.
"You better facetime me soon. Love you too A, bye!" She said hanging up.
After my call with her I decided to text Chris, my brother.
Me: Hey Chrissy!
We had these nicknames for each other when I would call him a girl name and he would call me a guy name.
Chris Scott 😎💕: Hey Adrian! Have you boarded yet?
Me: Soon, I just wanted to text you before I leave.
Chris Scott 😎💕: Cool! I hope you have fun and if anything goes wrong, I'm just a call away. Well a continent BUT I HAVE MY PEOPLE
Me: 😂 Best brother ever. I won't be here to spoil my favourite nephew so take care of him and take care of him and Tara!
Yeah, Chris was married to my best friend Tara and to be honest, it was sometimes weird to walk in on your brother and friend, who you consider a sister, in a heated makeout session. Let's just say, bad memories.
Chris Scott 😎💕: I know, I know. Take care of yourself and I'll talk to you when you're there, bye!
I shut my phone off and picked up my bag.
"Ms. Scott, the jet is waiting for your call to depart." A big, broad man said to me. He must be one of my dad's bodyguards. Goodness dad, I'm Adriana Scott not Harper's wife. But then I smiled to myself at the concern my dad had for me.
I looked up at the big man and nodded. He led me to the plane and I was accommodated rather quickly.
We landed in Rio de Janeiro after about 15 hours and truthfully I was a bit jettlaged. But luckily we werent done yet. The flight from Toronto, Canada, was literally the longest flight ever. Now I needed to go by road to Granja Comary, which is where CBF trains. That's going to take a little over an hour to get to. I was about to go to the information's desk when I got a text. I took my phone out and opened the text.
Peter Scott👨🏼❤️: Hi darling! I hope you landed safely. You're probably finding a way to get to Granja Comary right now. But don't worry I have you covered. Go to the information's desk and say my name. They'll know what your talking about and give you the keys to a car that I rented for you, for your time there. Don't say no, just take it without a word. As for your license, I already gave them that info so take the car and you are set. Call me when you can! Stay safe. Love you!
I groaned. I didn't need his help. I would've been fine with a taxi but no. Sometimes I think about whether or not my dad knew that I was a grown woman and not a little girl. But once again, I'm happy that he cares about me. He provides enough love to fill in the gap that I have empty from my mom. The love that I don't remember her giving me. I was planning on researching the players and at least learning their names but I couldn't do that as I would be driving.
I went to the info desk and got the keys. The lady led me outside to a very expensive looking car. A matte black Audi r8. I rolled my eyes at how posh this would look. The lady probably thought I was some spoiled little rich girl.
But soon that turned into admiration of this very sexy car. Just like the one that I have in the states.
The attendants helped me load my car and I was now on my way to the CBF training grounds.
I arrived at the grounds at about 2 in the afternoon. I parked my car and made my way inside to find someone who can help me. I saw a aged man in a tracksuit by the door and went up to him.
"Hi there, I was wondering if you could help me?" I asked politely.
He turned around and smiled at me. "You must be Adriana?" He said.
"Yes, but my apologies, I don't know who you are.." I said embarrassed.
He chuckled. "Wow I must say I am surprised. There are very few who don't know me."
Idiot, loser, dumbass. You should've done your research. Now you probably just offended someone.
"I...um...I-" I stuttered.
He laughed. "I'm pulling your leg. I'm Luiz Scolari, the head coach of CBF." He stuck out his hand.
I shook it and smiled. "I'm Adriana Scott. I'm very sorry for not knowing who you are."
"Oh, no. It's totally okay! I think that's exactly someone we need. Someone who doesn't know these monkeys." He laughed at his statement. I laughed as well. "I'm guessing you have your bags and stuff, I'll get someone to bring these to your room, which by the way is down this way and the 3rd door on your left."
I nodded. "If you don't mind, I would like to meet the team medical advisors."
He nodded in agreement. "Of course, I think they're outside with some of the boys, who are practising, right now. I'm going there right now." I nodded as he gestured me to follow him.
I don't know why I just noticed this but this place was huge.
