New part! Finally! This is a fun chapter that has a lot going on. :) The video is of the song that is being played during THE dance. You'll see what I'm talking about soon ;) please vote and comment!
The band of teens re-entered the main hall excitedly. They neared the dance floor ad stopped at a table right in front of it.
Joey nudged Tristan. "I don't know about you, but I'm gonna go grab some food at the buffet. That fight made me super hungry!"
Serenity sighed. "Joey, you're always hungry."
Joey shrugged in response. "What can I say? A man's gotta eat."
"We'll that you mention it, I haven't eaten anything since this morning. Food sounds good. Mind if I join you?" Tristan asked. Joey shook his head as the two headed toward the buffet.
Tèa shook her head and sighed. "Oh, those boys and their stomachs."
Atem chuckled. "They'll never change, I'm afraid. Boys will be boys. I should know."
"Yeah, but at least you're modest about it." She paused. "Atem, I'm worried. I'm worried about what Nirvana said. About the danger."
"Don't be. It's not happening now. We'll handle it when the threat becomes more clear."
"But I'm scared, Atem. She made it sound like something horrible is going to happen to us. And I don't want that to happen. Not again. We've been through too much already, we don't need to fight another battle."
Atem fell silent for a moment. "Let's get your mind off this, you're not enjoying yourself." The DJ put on a new song and immediately Atem got an idea. He turned to Tèa and held out his hand. "How about a dance?"
Tèa looked at him in surprise. "You know how to dance?"
"Of course. You think I'd come to a party unprepared?" He smiled. "C'mon, it'll make you feel better." He gestured to his outstretched hand again. "Shall we?" Tèa finally smiled and nodded, taking his hand. The two headed to the middle of the dance-floor as a song began to end.
The DJ eyed them and chuckled. "Looks like we got ourselves a duet. This'll be fun," he added to himself. As Atem and Tèa reached the middle of the dance-floor, everyone moved to give them space. The DJ started up a fast-pace acoustic guitar song.
The moment the song started, they were ready. It was as if something clicked and they could see into each other's mind. The two of them knew exactly what they were going to do. Atem and Tèa were dancing together so easily together, weaving in and out of each other to the beat of the guitar. Soon Atem was twirling Tèa around him and vice-versa. The whole time their feet were moving identically on beat.
Their performance caught the eye of most of the people on the dance-floor, and soon everyone around was moving to see the two incredible dancers. Even some of the teachers watched in awe.
Then came the intense part of the song, but their dancing did not falter. It became just as intense. Atem intertwined his arms with Tèa's while he had her back pressed up against his chest and they moved as one, moving their legs back and forth, side to side.
Tèa found it exhilarating. Not only was this the best dance she had preformed with a partner, but it also happened to be with Atem. The man of her dreams. She glanced behind her at him, but his eyes were closed, lost in the moment.
She smiled. "Wow, I never knew you could dance so well Atem."
His eyes opened dreamily. "I've never had a reason to show anyone. But I'm no professional. You on the other hand," he said as he twirled her around him once more and quickly pulled her back close to him, "are incredible."
