Chapter 32

Bakura landed in an abandoned lot in an alley. The dragon turned to Yugi and snarled.

"Get your armor on and get ready to fight!" He shifted into his human form and his Millennium Ring illuminated. A golden duel armor appeared. Bakura took it and tossed it into Yugi's hands.

Yugi put it on. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his last capsule monster. He opened it and Tyler appeared. The Kuriboh stared at Yugi sadly.

"I need your help one last time," Yugi told him. "If you'll help me."

Tyler glanced at Bakura behind him. His eyes narrowed. He turned back to Yugi and nodded. Yugi nodded back gratefully and activated the armor. Tyler disappeared and merged with the armor. Yugi's armor turned brown and green and the shape altered a bit. A brown sword with a green handle appeared in Yugi's hands.

Bakura grinned and the Millennium Ring illuminated. He disappeared and Ryo took his place. He glared at Yugi with pure hatred. He launched his capsule monster and activated his duel armor. The silent Magician appeared then disappeared, merging into his armor. Ryo pulled out the enchanted golden dagger and it illuminated and morphed into a long sword.

"It's time to end this Yugi," Ryo growled.

"Ryo, I really am sorry for what I said," Yugi said sincerely. "I know that I hurt you, and it did a lot more damage than I thought it would."

"It's too late for your apologies!" Ryo snarled. "You can't change my mind anymore, Yugi. That ship had sailed long ago."

"I know," he replied. "But I just want you to know. Before you go through with this."

Ryo smirked. "You know, this wasn't just about what you said. This is also for stealing the one thing I've actually loved since my sister."

Yugi frowned at him. "Now that's not true, I never stole her, you pushed her away. I never kissed her at the dance either."

"LIES!!" Ryo hissed. "Bakura told me."

"Bakura lied, Ryo! He always does. You know that! Better than anyone. When has he ever told the truth?"

Ryo snorted. "Don't blame him for your mistakes. He's not your scapegoat. Take ownership for what you've done!" He charged at Yugi, swinging his sword at him.

Yugi jumped back and dodged him. "I am Ryo! But that wasn't something I did," he yelled as he veered out of the way of Ryo's attacks. "What do I have to do to prove that to you?!"

Ryo bared his teeth in a low grow. "You can't. I've already made up my mind. If I beat you, this is the end for you!" The sword illuminated and he swung it at Yugi. A blast of light exploded from it and sent Yugi tumbling into the ground.

Yugi stood back up. "You know he's using you, don't you? Bakura doesn't care what happens to you as long as you get what he wants done. He just wants you for your powers."

Don't listen to him, Bakura hissed in Ryo's mind. He's just trying to confuse you.

"You're pathetic," Ryo growled as he landed near Yugi. "Using Bakura as your means of escape. That's low, even for you. Got to blame someone else for your problems, don't you?"

"That's not what I'm doing," Yugi said in frustration. "I'm trying to warn you. Bakura's going to destroy you once he's done with you!"

"Shut up!" Ryo snapped. "Bakura's done nothing but made me realize what a fool I was to call you my friends."

"You're defending him?!" Yugi asked in disgust. "What is wrong with you?!"

"People can change Yugi, you've always told me that."
