The Baby Project- OT4

Jade's POV

I had just sat down in my child development class and one of my best friends, Jesy had come and taken her seat next to me. "Where are Leigh and Pez?", I question. "Leigh went to the bathroom and Pez when back to the cafe to see if she could get another breakfast plate.", she answers. Leigh walks in and nods to the teacher before sitting behind us at her and Perrie's table. "What are we doing?", she questions. "Right now, she's explaining some big project. Couldn't be bothered to listen though.", I shrug. Perrie saunters in with her bottle of water before sitting down. "Best breakfast seconds ever. Can't wait till lunch.", she says patting her stomach. "I swear I think you're a bottomless pit sometimes.", I joke.

"I wish. I could eat so much more food like that.", she sighs making us all laugh. "Ok class, as I've been saying for the past few weeks, we are doing a robotic baby project. This will let me know that you well be able to take care of a real child in the future, while also preparing you for sleepless nights and all the good stuff. I want five groups of four and one of five.", the teacher instructs. No one really tries to group with us anymore since that know that we'll most likely choose each other. "Ok, so in this bag is all the supplies you'll need. You're going to get two babies per group. Next Friday is when you'll turn your babies in. The little screen on the back will show your score for when it's time for me to grade. If your score is still at a hundred by next week, that's an A, ninety or eighty, a B, seventy or seventy-five, a C, and anything lower is an F.", she says placing the bags on her table.

"Are there any questions?", she asks looking around. When no one raises their hand she smiles. "Each bag has enough for both babies so I need all group members to come up, two to grab the babies, one to grab the bag, and one to pick up the directions.", she continues. She picks each group before we have all of our materials. Jesy and Leigh inspect the babies as Perrie and I dig through the bag. "This should be an easy A.", I chuckle. "We need to make a schedule of course. But yeah it should.", Leigh adds. "I'll take one with me since I have study hall.", Jesy says. "I'll take the other, I've got computer.", Perrie says. "Alright, Jade and I will swap with you after I get out of art and she gets out of her psychology class.", Leigh suggests.

Jesy's POV

I sit down at the girls and I's usual table before pulling out my chemistry work. I sit the baby on the table next to me and take out one of my ear buds so I can hear if it starts crying. I guess we should name it, but I'll wait until I'm with the other girls. "Hey Nelson.", my friend says sitting in front of me. "What's up Josh?", I question. "Nothing, I'm just working on a photography assignment. I had to edit some pictures.", he answers. "Cool. I'm just finishing up the chem assignment.", I say looking over to the baby. "The work that's due next week? It surprises me how much of a nerd you really are. And what's this weird thing?", he asks. "The girls and I are taking care of two robotic babies for child development.", I sigh.

"So does it cry and all that?", he questions. As if the baby wanted to answer the question itself, baby like cries start to fill the room making me quickly grab the pacifier and gently but hurriedly shove it in the baby's mouth. The cries quiet down and I look back at Josh. "Thanks for jinxing it.", I joke. "I'll see you around though, I have to get going.", he says grabbing his stuff. I keep the baby seated in my lap and gently bounce my leg to keep it calm and finish my work before packing it back into my bag. "Two more classes then to the apartment.", I sigh holding the baby close to me so I wouldn't drop it. "This thing is a devil.", Perrie groans meeting me at our shared math class.

"This one is pretty easy going. It cried once, then shut up.", I shrug. "Hey you two. How was it?", Leigh questions. "Take this devil child away!", Perrie says placing the baby in Leigh's hands. I give the other baby to Jade and we walk to our seats. "What were you all thinking for names?", Jade questions. "I feel like it she be a combination of our names. One is a boy, and the other is a girl.", I answer. "Well then, the boy should be Justin Amelio, and the girl could be I don't know, somebody else talk.", Leigh says giving up mid way. "Since Justin comes from Jesy and we all know where you got the middle name from, how about Anne Louise? I'm thankful these two have the same middle name.", Jade suggest.
