After the fashion show was over the host came back up on stage.
"Wow, talk about stunning! Each of those designs were uniquely beautiful in their own ways. We had everything from swimsuits, to active wear, to casual and lounge wear, to dresses that could be worn on a night like tonight. As you all know we will be having our silent auction tonight, and if you are interested in seeing and bidding on what's over there or just donating to the cause you can do so over in the back left corner of the room. As always we will be donating all of the proceeds collected tonight to charity to help get clothes to those in need. The auction will be open until 10:00 tonight. While the auction is open feel free to take full advantage of the open floor we have left for you all tonight to dance or just gather with friends and talk."
With that the room erupted in applause for the host and people started to get up.
"Well, with that I am going to go and see what they have over there for the silent auction. Care to join me, darling?", my dad said standing up and offering to my mother.
"Of course, dear. Girls, go. Get up and go talk to your friends or something. You are here to socialize with other people not each other. You can do that at home, and speaking of home, I do not want any of you leaving until at least 10:00. I also want each of you to come and find your father and I before you leave.", my mom said taking my father's hand and standing up.
"How long are you in town for grandpa?", Abby asked.
"The whole weekend. I'll fly out early Monday morning, so don't worry about talking to me tonight. You should listen to your mother and go find your friends."
"Ok, see you tomorrow grandpa! Come on Jakey, lets go find my friends.", Abby said.
After they were gone grandpa said, "I kind of feel bad for him. He seems like a nice kid."
"Eh, he'll get used to it or leave, that's what . Come on Josh, this whole us coming together thing was your idea so you don't get to sit here with my sister the whole time like you usually do.", Sabrina said getting up.
After they left it was just my grandparents, Jossilyn, and I left. "Don't you want to go find your friends and go show off your girlfriend?", grandma asked.
"I'm nervous."
"Oh, honey, don't be nervous. They reached out to you first so obviously they want to see you, and if you do go find them and something goes wrong it's not like it'll be the end of the world. You know how to survive without them, but having them back in it might be nice if you're all willing to leave the past in the past.", grandma said standing up. "In the meantime if you need us, your grandpa and I will be out on the dance floor showing these young people how it's done. Come on dear, I'm in the mood to dance till I drop."
"Oh no, pray for me girls. Sounds like it's going to be a long night for this old man.", grandpa said chuckling and following my grandma out onto the dance floor.
Jossilyn and I sat there for a little bit longer before she broke it, "Let's go", she said standing up and putting out her hand.
"Where are we going?", I asked taking her hand and getting up as well.
"To find your friends."
"Wha-", I said as she started pulling me.
It didn't take long to spot them. They were all standing together in a group in the back of the room.
Just as I was about to chicken out and walk the other way one of them saw me.
"Anna! Hey! We've been looking all over the floor for you tonight. Where have you been?", Kimber asked.
