Chapter 25: Did the World Turn Upside Down?

September 3, 707

She invited everyone to take part in this diary thing and said to write down all of our knowledge about our own magic. Damn, what the heck is this? Why should we write something on a similar-looking notebook given by her as if we are writing a fucking memento?

Anyway, this is the list of us all. They are already writing about what she told them to write. Me? I don't plan to write anything! I'm not dying yet! Too lazy to share all my secrets but...

Okay! Alright! For her!

Anyway, these are all the people included in this weird activity! Thankfully, I managed to get all their signs.

Vestalei

Hisui

Zaydge

Loraine

Lavigne

Miesha

Alkyne

Ivannovich

Sarrich

Vesta

JUST who the heck are they?! Was it possible for all of them to own a diary with the same design? Does her master's name belong in the list? Those people's names kept bugging Luna's mind. It also reminded her about the name—the only name written on her master's diary—Ivan.

Now, another bunch of questions are starting to flood her mind. Were the diaries' owners connected to each other? How did the diaries' appearance look the same? Were the Ivan in her diary and the Ivannovich in Shiki's diary also connected to each other? Who is Miesha? What did she do in the past? How did she leave so much impact? Why did the tribe's leader mistake her as Miesha? Why did Shiro react weirdly to her name? Is she his old master or not? Also, why did Shiro's ex-master choose to kill herself rather than doing what was right?

The girl's mind was never silenced as questions kept on piling up as if a stream that kept on flowing until she suddenly remembered the name that was written in the diary she was holding. Ivan's name is written in large letters on the first page of the diary while the name of her master was nowhere to be seen! Ivan is a masculine name yet the voice that she heard in the past that transferred knowledge to her mind and instructed her about the things she had to do to use her magic was definitely a feminine voice!

Currently, the girl is at the other end of the large and rusty bridge while her two companions are still inside her spatial box and resting. The sun's scorching heat has finally cooled down as the sky finally turned orange. They have been traveling for quite a long time now but Luna doesn't feel tired yet. For now, she plans to cross the other kingdom before the night comes so that before darkness could, she would be one kingdom nearer to her destination.

However, just as the girl was about to approach the giant and brilliant gate of Grigoras, she was immediately greeted by sixteen flying knives with killing intent that she immediately felt before they really even showed up.

The girl moved like a viper, as if she was dancing while avoiding the knives. Using her strong senses, Luna closed her eyes and then ascertained the location of the people who had suddenly attacked her.

"One, two, three—no! They are five sneaky rats." The girl laughed maniacally before using her power on the five people around.

In the blink of an eye, black threads suddenly appeared on Luna's right palm as they quickly stretched and crawled towards her targets. And before the five could even notice, they were already in the air with a black silk-like thread wrapped around their whole body except their head that prevented them from moving—as if a spider web wrapped around some insects that did not manage to avoid the trap. Although they tried to cut it with their reserve knives, they failed. When they struggled, it became even tighter, making their situations even more difficult.

Luna simply calls this type of her power, black thread. It is formed because of all the accumulated power that she has as she molds it into objects that she wants it to be. It can be shaped into a lot of objects as long as she wants it. It can be considered a normal leash but can also be used as a killing tool if she wants to sharpen it. It is strong as if a diamond and only the person with stronger magic than her will be able to break it using magic as well.

"How does it feel to become the prey instead of being the predator? Should I spare you or should I not? I was just passing by when you attacked me so I think it's reasonable enough for me to end your lives, no, especially when you attacked me with that kind of killing intent?" Luna sweetly said with her evil intentions overflowing that made them tremble in fear, afraid of their upcoming death, even when she hasn't even released her magic power yet.

"Don't kill us, please! There are a lot of people waiting for us to come back!" the bewildered woman cried out as she dared to beg for their lives.

Luna clicked her tongue and then frowned at what she heard. What right do they have to beg for their lives even though they were the first one to attack her even though all she ever wanted to do was to cross safely?

A few minutes of silence enveloped the atmosphere which caused the five to have little hope while thinking that the woman would let them run away. However, that hope was quickly killed when suddenly, the black threads wrapped around them tightened even more—making them have a hard time breathing while thinking that if it was tightened up again, their internal organs would definitely explode.

And then, the rope suddenly loosened as their breathing returned to normal and when they blinked again, all they could see normally was turned upside down. Has the world turned upside down?

A few minutes passed by when they realized something. They are hanging upside down!

"Well, there are people who are also waiting for me to come back, you know? What if you managed to kill me? What if I didn't manage to capture you all? Then, they might be waiting for nothing if you did kill me, right? I bet you wouldn't even spare me if I was just a weakling if I was the one in your situation right now."

On the targets' side, the five people who attacked the maiden had their own various brain discussions. However, they all came to the same conclusion, just who proposed the idea to block and rob the strange girl in front of them!? Why is it that among the many people they choose to rob, they even have to encounter someone like her!? Why did she even pique their interest? Because she's beautiful? Hah! She is definitely a beauty but also like a flower that is poisonous—she is deadly and scary! Who would have thought that this beautiful girl who looked like a bashful and weak lady could afford to kill them if she just wanted to!?

"Now, now. Should I just spare you, guys? But I don't think you would learn if I just leave it like this, don't you think so?" Luna mischievously said.

"Please, spare us! It was Russu who chose to target and suggested robbing you!" a man placed in the middle, desperately shouted as he sent sharp glances on the man at the right end who laughed with sarcasm and amusement because of the sudden twist of events.
