Chapter 34: I'm A Woman but Not Weak Like You
"HOW are you, Harriel? Did you really think you're the boss's favorite?" a man who is smiling demonically said while standing in a proud posture next to their leader, Arthur.
"Boss Velsek..." Harriel said in a tone mixed with nervousness. He was feeling a little guilty for thinking of betraying the group but fear soon prevailed in his heart because of what their leader had said.
"This is so saddening on my part. I decided to raise you as my own son yet this is what you'll repay me?" the boss of Harriel said to him as he acted so downhearted and disappointed before a lone tear fell on his left eye.
Harriel felt even more guilty because of his previous action and the words that kept on coming out from the mouth of his boss. However, Luna on the other hand, wanted to vomit upon witnessing the disgusting acting of the man whom she heard was the leader of the ship. Seriously? How could Harriel sympathize with such poor acting skills? Can't he tell the difference between real and fake? Poor boy. It's definitely because of his power that he was exploited by the pirate leader yet he did not even realize it.
"It's been a very long time since I've had a strange feeling about you. Good thing that I decided to follow my instincts in the past and prepared two people who are more reliable and trustworthy than you. Have I not, my branch would definitely suffer a huge loss because of your death and of course, that would impose a jeopardy in the group's business if I couldn't find anyone to replace you by that time," Velsek said as his sad gaze immediately became sharp, piercing Harriel with his look as if, if it could kill, the boy would be dead the moment it turned on him.
Harriel flinched in surprise upon seeing the look that was given to him. It was the same look their leader gives to the other member who he wanted to dispose of for they either made him irritated or they just simply lost their use to him. After that, the young man's gaze shifted to Arthur who was still grinning like an idiot. Then he looked back at Velsek who kept on shooting daggers at him.
He said he prepared two people? If he really prepared two people to replace him, why does he only see one? Just Arthur. Or maybe, does the other person have a power that caused him not to see where he was?
"Harriel, from now on I'm officially removing you from the group!" the man he used to serve said to him with a prideful arrogant smile.
Ignoring the expulsion that he just experienced, the young man just nodded, which made Velsek even angrier because of Harriel's seemingly uncaring response, while the two secretly cheered.
"Arthur, kill the woman! After that, kill that worthless traitor, Harriel, next! Make sure to kill him in the most painful way possible!" Velsek shouted in anger.
Harriel didn't know why but when he heard his previous leader's words, his body reacted spontaneously as he quickly blocked the woman's body in hopes of protecting it from the attacks of his former co-member.
The girl, Azer and Arthur were all shocked upon witnessing the action that took place. However, Harriel was even more surprised because of his sudden reaction because he did not know the reason for his sudden movement.
Because of that, Arthur's plan to unleash many of his attacks to kill the woman in an instant was left in the air.
"Is a woman that you've only met today that important to you? If only you try to beg the boss, he might let you live or go back to the group, you know? Just as a simple servant though and not in the same position," Arthur said sarcastically when he recovered from what happened.
"I was right, you really are worthless. Hah! Before you die, let me tell you something so that I won't owe you anything anymore," Velsek said meaningfully as a menacing smile arose on his face.
