Chapter 35: I Said I'll Kill You
"Did you just really think that you could handle me after your companion arrived? Even if the both of you attack me at the same time today, you can never touch me unless I let you," Luna said coldly before shrugging her shoulders and then carelessly wiping the sticky liquid dripping from her neck.
"Be thankful that the Azer guy still showed some pity to you earlier or else I might have killed you already," she added that no one understood aside from Azer.
And at that moment, Arthur, with a panicking heart, disregarded his opponent in order for him to run towards his sister who looked severely injured after being hit by the estranged woman whom they tried to mess up with.
Who cares about being on top? Who cares about Harriel!? Who cares about their leader's recognition!? At that moment, the only thing that mattered to him was his sister's life. However, before he could even get away from Harriel's ground, his sister—who was just lying on the ground—already tried to launch a sneak magical attack to Luna who was already walking towards Yuhan.
But even before Anne's attacks landed on Luna's back, the latter had already raised her left hand with her palm wide open. Afterwards, when she slowly started to close her palm, the two swords that Anne was manipulating stopped in the mid-air just when they were just a few inches near her.
After that, Luna lowered her left hand and at the same time, stretched out her right hand forward. And then, two thin black threads appeared from her right wrist. They stretched out and grew longer as if they had life on their own until it reached the height of Luna's eye level.
Then, as if snakes that were not able to eat for a long time saw prey that they could eat, the thread attacked the two swords as if they were small rats that they could devour. Afterwards, they wrapped around the swords as if spiders that were covering the insects trapped on their web before completely devouring them.
Luna's audience were totally confused. They don't understand what kind of magic the woman has. As if they were all newborn babies without understanding.
"What kind of things are those? They look like vines but they aren't," Azer whispered to himself as he had never seen anything like this in the school he previously attended.
Luna lowered her hand after a few seconds and what showed the audience was another thing that was beyond their comprehension. The threads stopped what they were doing before they came back to the maiden's wrist, leaving no traces about the shiny swords but powdered dust. Nothing was left!
"I see that you still want to target me. But first, make sure that you're stronger than me or you'll just end up embarrassing yourself," Luna said coldly.
Strange. Too strange. Who the heck is the woman? What was the thing that she previously did? How did she do that? Was that magic or not?
While the onlookers were amazed—even the thugs' leader, Anne's face almost lost all of its color because of her anxiety that was starting to arise because of her thoughts. What is the woman going to do?! Will she kill her? Will she not even spare her?
But all of her overthinking was put to naught because what she expected did not happen. The woman never came back or attacked her again! She simply went to her blind companion, sat there and quietly observed her brother and Harriel whose fight had not yet progressed.
"Arthur, kill that man now! You also, Anne, kill those who are planning to run away and don't just stare like an idiot!' Don't imitate Harriel who is worthless!" Velsek shouted in anger after recovering from the scene that he witnessed, which made Anne remember what she was supposed to do.
The words from the angry old man pushed Anne to act even though her body was already purple and covered with bruises due to what Luna had done to her. When Arthur heard this, instead of doing what he was told, he worriedly turned to his sister before turning back to Harriel who seemed ready to dash at any moment.
It was very difficult for Anne to even get up but she forced herself only to stop midway upon seeing her target assisting the blind man who was captured with them earlier to stand up. Beside the woman standing was the man whom she easily fooled earlier. So, instead of trying to attack Luna just like the way she did earlier, she focused her attention on the two men on the both sides of the girl instead. She attacked them at the same time using her two small spare knives. She had no intention of using them earlier if only her beloved swords did not get pulverized earlier.
But then again, as if history repeated itself, before the daggers could even reach Azer and Yuhan, they already stopped in the midair and so, the black thread coming from Luna's wrist came out again and devoured Anne's poor weapons to dust that made the pathetic girl's blossoming little hope vanished in vain.
"I see that you really have a death wish. I already gave you a chance to live earlier, didn't I? But you made a wrong move again, little girl. Just because he's blind means you can already take him down. As long as I'm standing, you will never manage to scratch this handsome face of his. Got that?" Luna said while giving the clueless Yuhan a mischievous stare. The girl's brilliant eyes almost formed a heart as she focused her eyes on him and watched his innocent face.
Azer was astounded upon hearing what the maiden said that he lost his words. It never occurred to him that he would be fooled by the woman he tried to help earlier, which is why he wanted to apologize to Luna. However, instead of being able to do that, he also became a part of the scheming woman's plan.
Luna turned to Anne after a few moments of feasting her eyes on Yuhan's almost perfect face. But when her eyes shifted focus, the spark of joy and admiration in the maiden's eyes quickly died and the only thing that took over there was the void.
"Shall I finish you off now?" Luna asked coldly that made Yuhan fidget and ended up making Azer sweat in nervousness.
Is she serious? Azer asked in his mind.
When he looked into her eyes, there he found the answer. She's really freaking serious!
A few minutes passed by but the maiden did not receive an answer so she just scratched her head before repeating what she said in words that the person she was talking to could understand.
"I said, am I going to kill you?" Luna said irritably while having a dark expression on her face.
Everyone who heard and saw the girl's face was terrified but before the question could be answered, a childish voice hovered around while uttering dangerous words.
"Luna, shall I kill this stupid girl?" Shiki asked in an innocent tone after descending from the upper part of the ship to look for Luna though it took a while because they were intercepted several times.
"Too slow. But, sure," Luna replied with a smirking face.
