"So Saron, what practice have you and Star had with your powers?" asked David, turning his attention to the both of us.I looked to Star, waiting for her to respond since I had no experience at all.
"I started to practice flying with my mom before coming here but I'm still shaky," Star answered, embarrassed.
"Hey, you're better than me. I had no practice at all," I assured her.
"Flying was the hardest for all of us, don't worry you'll get the hang of it," encouraged Gwen, shooting Star an understanding glance.
"What about dream walking? Have you guys tried that yet?" asked Joel.
"Dream what?!" I blurted out in surprise. I looked to Star for help but was met with the same baffled expression.
"You don't know what it is?" asked Tom incredulously.
"No! What is it?" Star pressed impatiently.
"As angels, we can appear in people's dreams. People usually do this when they can't find the person they're trying to contact but you can do it to anyone as long as you envision them in your mind," Tom elaborated.
"That's so cool. What else can we do?" I asked excitedly.
"Watch this," Gwen said, pulling out her phone and handing it to us.
"Carpe diem," Star read out loud.
"Seize the day!" we both translated in unison. My eyes widened in shock as I looked back at Gwen for an explanation.
"As angels, we are one of the oldest supernatural creatures so we all can read and understand Latin and many other dead languages," Gwen explained further.
I felt a rush of excitement. There was so much Angels could do and this was just the tip of the iceberg. If I could do so many things as an Angel alone, how much more would I be able to do in my other 3 states?
"Don't stop! Tell us more," said Star.
"David, why don't you show them?" Tom asked.
"I thought you'd never ask," David replied with a mischievous smile.
He focused his gaze at the table we were sitting on cutting it in half separating us into two separate groups using nothing but his mind. Just as soon as he split it in half, he willed it to come back together.
"NO WAY! How did you do that?!?!?" Star asked, dumbfounded.
"As angels we can also change reality to what we want. There are limits of course, this only applies to objects not people. We can't make someone like us who doesn't, trust me I've tried. We can only change objects to what we want after focusing on what we want in our minds," explained Joel.
"Star, you try," Gwen offered.
"Okay!" Star's smile faded from her face, replaced with a stern face as she focused on the cup in her hand. Slowly, she began to cut the cup with her mind. But once it was halfway off, it stopped cutting. She frowned, looking up for help.
"Clear your mind and don't stop envisioning the cutting until it is cut clean in half," Tom instructed.
Star nodded and closed her eyes. The cup began to cut once more until the top half came clean off.
"Whoooooo!!!" cheered Gwen.
"You did it!" exclaimed Joel, wrapping his arm around her in support.
"Now it's your turn," said Tom, winking at me.
"You can do it, Saron!!!" Star encouraged me.
I took a deep breath eying the platter in front of me. I closed my eyes and envisioned cutting a line straight down the middle.
