"Bye Mr. Sharp, we'll be back to win on Monday," called out Star confidently as we walked out.

"We'll see about that," he replied, chuckling as he waved us off.

"Should we train before since we've never battled together as a team?"

Star grinned at Jeremy's suggestion, bobbing her head excitedly.

"We can meet tomorrow," I offered, nodding in agreement.

"Here, give me your phone," ordered Star, holding out her hand. He handed it to her instantly and she quickly created a group chat with the three of us.

"We'll be in touch," I told him, smiling before me and Star separated from him.

Once he was out of sight, I whispered, "Do you really think we have a chance of winning?"

"Are you kidding? YES."

I laughed, still doubtful it held any truth.

"I'll see you later," she said, prancing away.

I zoomed to the room where I trained to find Narxus seated, for once looking drained.

"What's wrong?"

Noticing me, he straightened up, rising from his seat before plastering on a smile.

"Nothing at all. Ready for today's lesson?"

Not willing to let it go, I pressed him, "You look awful. What's wrong?"

"Nothing, we've just been working a lot lately in preparation for the Fi-"

"The Five?" I finished, interested to see what he knew.

"Yes...how do you know of the Five?" he asked, narrowing his eyes in suspicion.

"There have been rumors. Do you know why they're coming?"

"They are known to pop into Academies from time to time to see that their funding is not going to waste. They usually pay attention to the fifth years, since they are usually the most talented. I'm sure I don't have to remind you how dangerous it would be if one of them discovered who you are."

I nodded in understanding before asking, "Why would it be so dangerous?"

"The Five are the very ones who orchestrated the massacre of all the Arogens many years ago. There have only been a handful to ever exist but they tracked them down, killing them all. They felt threatened by their strength and couldn't fathom the idea of anyone more powerful than them. That's what they do to anyone who may pose a threat on them or their alliance. They are powerful, intelligent creatures. They're also very secretive. Nobody outside of their circle knows what they are up to. If they were to even look at you, they'd know who you are and your life would be in grave danger. Do you understand?"

My stomach churned at his words as I quickly responded, "Yes, I understand."

Why would they track down and kill people like me that held no threat to them. Was power that important to them that they'd be willing to kill me for simply existing? I wasn't about to test my luck and find out. I quivered at the idea of them coming to the Edgewood.

"Today, we will focus on your witch powers since that is the side we haven't tapped into yet."

He motioned over to the end of the room where he had plants, flowers, seeds, and various materials derived from the Earth laid upon the ground.

"Now, as I'm sure you've learned witches, as all supernatural creatures have magic but fewer than most. Their power is strongest when it is natural. Most witches bind their powers within their coven to increase their power, by relying on one another. You however, have no coven and it is dangerous for you to bind with other witches who could have access to your mind and discover who you are. The original witches were powerful because they derived their power from the Earth. They were one with the Earth and the Earth became their vessel for them to channel power. We are going to attempt to bind you with the Earth by performing a few simple spells with things of nature."
