It was the night after Neil's 23 birthday, and he sat on a hotel room couch, awaiting the knock that was his whole reason for being there. You see, the nerd here was still a virgin, and his friends often recommending ways to "fix" that. Over the years, he had slightly eased up with social events, including parties; and despite having a few relationships over the years, he'd never gotten that far. There was once, at a bar when it almost happened, but they ended up both getting sick and throwing up, and just went home. The brunette never really talked to that person much after that incident. Finally, one of those friends decided to take that matter into their own hands and for a "gift" for Neil's birthday, he set up a meet with a hooker. Great. He had paid for it as well as the room, insisting that it was about time Neil had this experience. Neil felt rude to turn down something that he had already paid for, but was currently extremely nervous and regretting that decision.

It occurred to him then that he hadn't asked the gender of whoever was coming, and though he assumed that it would be female, he couldn't be sure. The friend in question wasn't answering any of his texts now, as to not 'ruin the surprise', and that question was now the main one plaguing his thoughts. He still reasoned the probability of it being female was higher, especially because this friend was straight, but the uncertainty left his hands twisting together anxiously. He knew absolutely nothing about this person, not even what they looked like, this was seeming to get worse and worse by the second. Why did I let myself get into this predicament? the brunette groaned to himself. Each precious passing second felt too short as the minutes quickly ticked by. Passing until a sound finally broke it, a light rap on the door.

The young adult begrudgingly stood from the couch and walked to the door, taking a deep breath before pulling it open. Before him stood a shorter male, looking off to the side with a bored expression. So it was a guy... Neil thought. The stranger turned his head as the door opened, a look spread across his face as his eyes landed on the brunette, it lasted a few moments. "Neil?" He finally asked. The man in question nodded his head, "Uh-yeah, do you want to come in?" He could feel his hands starting to shake, but hid them behind his back to hide his nervousness. "Nah, I'll just sit out here," the shorter man chuckled as he entered the room. The man looked around the place before pinpointing his place of work; the bedroom. "So I didn't catch your name?" Neil stated as he closed the door, making the other look at him rather confused. "You don't know my name?" He questioned as if it was rhetorical. Neil shook his head. "Well, you see...it's kinda a weird setup."

"My friend booked this for me...for my birthday, and wouldn't tell me anything about it," he explained, "I didn't even know you would be a guy." The stranger looked at him a second before laughing, "What a friend," He managed between snickers. "Got ripped off, huh?" "No I'm pan-so it was a possibility-it's just that I still didn't expect it is all." The stranger chuckled again as he shrugged off his coat. "Well my stage name is Crystal Pop," he said, smiling, "But I don't mind people using my actual name, so you can call me Max if you want." "Wait-Max?!" The taller male asked suddenly, "Like tiny assh*le, 'I hate everything' Max????" Max froze in surprise for a moment. So this actually was the Neil he used to know. "Nerd?" He gasped with wide eyes.

"Oh my god! It's been forever!" Neil exclaimed, now happy with the circumstances. Maybe instead of...that, he could catch up with his old friend. The shorter smirked, "Oh how fate has brought us back together." He laughed again when Neil's face very obviously darkened in color. It seemed that he wasn't exactly excited for what he had been paid to come here for. Odd. "Come on, I wanna know where you've been the last like ten years!" Neil quickly sputtered back, he was going to try to sway the conversation away until it wasn't even on the table anymore. "Well..." Max thought while leaning on the bar counter, "David adopted me, so I lived with him until I moved out, I'm in my second year of college...found out I was gay a while ago." He shrugged one shoulder, he didn't really know what else was of interest. "And you're a prostitute..." The brunette filled in.
