"Pupunta lang akong bookstore" Sabi ni Iris at tinanguan ko lang. Tinignan ko ang relo ko at malapit na palang mag alas dyes kaya nag paalam ako sakanila "I have to meet someone. Aantayin ko nalang kayo sa parking lot" Brie's eyebrows arched and made an intimidating look
"At san ka pupunta?"
"Business" Pag sisinungaling ko, ang totoo ay inaya ako ni Khashton na lumabas dahil may sasabihin daw sya. Hindi na nag tanong si Brie kaya tuluyan na akong umalis at pumuntang parking lot.
"Ohayo" I said pulling the hem of his shirt. He stared at me like he was wondering who am I "Y-You — look cute" He gulped multiple times and blushed. I can sense nervousness in his eyes. I looked at him and smiled "Why are you nervous anyway?" Kunwaring inosente kong saad.
"L-let's just go in" He opened the door for me and I immediately got in. No one dared to talk while his driving. Awkwardness is in the air.
"So where are we going?" I asked him "My grandma's restaurant, it has lots of delicious Japanese food" He answered and i got really excited
"Tamang tama gutom nako" A smile formed on his lips. Nag park kami sa isang Japanese style resto. He opened the car's door for me. Ng makapasok kami ay namangha ako sa itsura ng buong resto, it's simplicity made it more beautiful and unique.
"It's beautiful"
"Yeah, my grandma has been really addicted to Japanese traditions that's why naisip nya ito" He pointed at the mini garden na may nag isiisang cherry blossom sa centro ng hardin "It's called Balayong, the cherry blossom of the Philippines" Iginaya nya ako papunta sa puno "It didn't bloom yet, but I'll take you here again once it's time for it to bloom"
"It's really beautiful" I was mesmerized by its beauty but I did notice Khashton's stare from behind. "Khashton?" A voice of an old lady came to us "Good morning giagiá" He greeted the old lady with a hug, it must be his grandma. Even though her grandmother's skin was wrinkled due to aging, it was still obvious that she was beautiful when she was young
"I didn't know you'd come and visit, you should've informed me para nakapag handa ako" Tumingin sakin ang grandma nya na parang nag tataka. It must be my mask "You're a descendant from the Vertefeuille Family am I right?" She asked and I nod "Ohayo Gozaimasu" I bowed as sign of respect and she smiled at me
"No wonder your wearing a mask, must be a really tough responsibility" How come she knows so much of these stuffs
"You know about our tradition?" Lumapit sya sakin at hinawakan ang kamay ko. "I've been addicted to Japan so I went to a vacation there and I accidentally met your grandma. We became friends and I even met you. Your family is loyal to it's tradition and I still remember, you still wear the same mask since I've met you back when I was in Tokyo."
