Clarissa Emerson Gray is a nineteen year old college student who lives with her single mother in Brooklyn, New York City. All her life she's seen things but has always gone unnoticed by the things she sees. One day in the fall, just days after her nineteenth birthday she encounters a demon that can see her. This leads to her mother sacrificing herself and leaving simple instruction to go to an old and falling apart church. What happens when Emerson realizes that she's not who she thought she was and that the things she's always seen are out to get her, especially now that they finally can.
