chapter 4

Science was my favourite subject and I was top of the class back in England and no matter what, I always got on with my work but with Lucas sitting next to me, his body heat radiating off of him, I wasn't getting anywhere. We were learning about cells but that's as far as I got. With him so close, all I could think about was that bloody kiss, I mean what was up with that. So I asked him. When the teacher was drawing diagrams on the board, I turned to Lucas, to see him already staring at me. I manged to get a hold of myself before I lost myself in his eyes,

"Ok, what was up with that kiss earlier?" Lucas looked at me with a confused expression on his face,

"What do you mean, what was up with it, we're mates" now I'm lost, "Mates? what are you on about? I don't even know you and that's not even a proper reason for why you kissed me" he suddenly pulled my stool closer to him and I grabbed the table so I wouldn't fall. I silently gasped when Lucas placed his lips next to my ear, squeezed my thigh and whispered, "Oh come on, don't deny it, I know you can feel that our wolves are connected" I abruptly pulled away and shoved his hand off my thigh, "What the bloody hell are you talking about?"

'I know you can feel that our wolves are connected' seriously what kind of shit is he on. His face scrunched in absolute confusion as he bent his head to look at the table as he muttered, "Er, nothing, sorry". I gave him a weird look and scooted my chair as far as I could get from him. So hot, yet so deluded. For the rest of the lesson, I just about managed to listen and take enough notes before the bell went to signal lunch time, I grabbed my stuff and scurried off to the cafeteria.

I went and got a ham sandwich along with a bottle of Fanta before I saw Rachel and she saw me. She waved her hand to signal for me to come to her. As I neared the table, Rachel beamed at me and told me to come sit with her.

As I sat down next to her, I saw that there were 3 other girls sat down as well, "Girls, this is Kelsey, the new girl, Kelsey, this is Abbey, Sarah and Carrie" Rachel spoke up. The girls waved at me as I waved at them. Abbey had honey coloured skin with hazel coloured hair, a dimple on the left corner of her mouth and green eyes. Sarah had tanned skin with curly dark brown hair, blue eyes with flecks of green in and her top was just about about keeping her cleavage from spilling out. Carrie was the quietest out of all of them. Her straight black hair was framing her pale face. she had dark brown eyes and a lip piercing on the right side of her bottom lip.

I ate my lunch, looking around the cafeteria as Rachel and the others are arguing about which salvatore brother from Vampire Diaries is hotter. Personally i think Damon, as he's got the whole bad boy look but obviously Sarah and Rachel think otherwise, so I stay out of it. As I look around, I catch the eye of Lucas, and he's talking with the guys on his table but he's staring at me.

I go back to eating but I am soon directing my gaze back to Lucas but this time the whole tables staring at me with confused expressions. After that I quickly tell the girls I'm gonna check out the library and stay in there till the bell for end of lunch sounds.

My last two lessons of the day were Art and maths, both I have with Rachel and both subjects that I suck at. At the end of the day, I practically ran out the door, to my mums car so I could avoid bumping into Lucas. As I neared the entrance, I saw Lucas leaning again a black mercedes staring at me very perplexed. I avoided eye contact as I sped out the gates and down the road. I'm back in my driveway about 5 minutes later, but I'm not the only car here.

Next to mine was a black BMW. I jumped out the car and headed inside the house, "Hey Mum, whose car is outside", I see my mums head pop around the corner from the kitchen with a happy grin on her face and she walked toward me, "That car my dear, is yours" my eyes widen with disbelief, "Are you serious?"

"No it's the elves car, you know the ones that live in the loft, of course it's yours, I told you I'd sort something" I rolled my eyes at my mums sarcasm. She produced a pair of keys and told me to take the car for a test drive. I jumped about like a giddy school girl before I snatched the keys and raced inside the car. Once I sat down, I was already in love with it. The seats were so soft, and it had that new car smell. I turned the car on and listened to it rumble before pulling out and speeding down the road.

I got about half a mile down the road before something huge jumped out in front of the car. I skidded as I tried to swerve out of the way and slammed the brakes. I froze for a few seconds before I gingerly got out of the car to see what the thing was but it had disappeared. I turned around, looking into one side of the forest, then the other side but I couldnt see anything. All I remember was a blur of black. But there nothing around. I shakily got back into the car and made my way back home.

Mum was already in the doorway when I pulled in with as huge smile on her face. I shook what I saw earlier from my mind and plastered a beaming smile on my face as I hopped out of the car and exclaimed, "It's awesome, thank you so much!" I pulled her in for as hug, "Your welcome, I'm so glad you like it, now come in, dinners nearly ready". Later we sat down and dug into our macaroni and cheese when Mum asked, "So, how was your first day of school?"

I daren't mention about Lucas because she would probably make me carry pepper spray with a rape whistle and sheild, so instead I talked about meeting Rachel, Carrie, Sarah and Abbey. I also told her about Mr Phillips hair falling off. I made her laugh so hard, I thought she was gonna choke and I'd have to do CPR and I don't do good under pressure. After we caught up on our day, we both went to bed. I put on my shorts and tank top and climbed into my covers. Again like last night, before I fell asleep, I heard a howl.
