Chapter 12
The next morning I proceeded to walk to the bus when I was stopped by Mike. I turned around in the middle of the sidewalk and saw Mike getting in his brothers car. Vic was already in but didn't pay attention to me.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Where are you going?"
"To the bus. . ." I replied.
"Nonsense, we'll take you to school." He offered but I gave him wary look. Vic probably doesn't want to drive my ass to school honestly.
"I'm fine, really. The bus isn't too bad."
"Oh shut up and get in the car." Vic said which basically shut me up. Without another second to waste, I walked over to the car and opened the back door.
"From now on, you'll ride with us." Vic said as soon as I closed the door.
Well, isn't he straight forward?
"Do you at least want like, gas money?" I asked timidly. I mean, it's the least I could do.
"Nah," Vic said looking at me through the small car mirror. I held his gaze for a few seconds before turning and facing Mike.
The ride to school wasn't too bad, considering Mike had me in a conversation. He kept rambling about this new chick he met yesterday and said it was love at first sight, which I doubt. Her name is Alysha and he said that she has every quality he would like in a girl. She is perfect in his eyes. Mike said that the group was going to meet up and eat after school, which I was invited to, and said that he invited his new crush. I guess you can say that this afternoon would be interesting.

School was not very interesting so I was so happy when the last bell rung. I was walking with Mike to Vic's car, which he was already in. Jaime was walking with us too since we were going to give him a ride to the place. I was actually excited but still a bit nervous since there would probably be some unfamiliar people at our gathering. This is just a chance to make new friends I guess. The guys were also pretty excited, and surprisingly also Vic. He wasn't that enthusiastic at lunch for some weird reason so it was nice to see him smiling. It's just something about his smile that makes me smile.
We parked at the diner and immediately saw a group of people waiting at the entrance for us. They were friendly but I was still nervous as hell when I introduced myself. When I saw Mike's newly found crush, I was amazed. She was a very cool chick and literally perfect for him. I mean, who knows how she feels about him but they would still make a good couple.
When we were given a table for our large group, I sat beside Jaime. Someone I didn't expect to see here sat to my left. Her fiery green hair let me recognize her quickly. She had just gotten here with another friend so she was barely saying 'Hi' to everyone. It was Jenna.
"Hi, I don't think I've seen you around." She said when she turned to me.
I was at loss for words and felt like everyone in the room was staring at me when in reality they were all indulged in their own conversations. She smiled at me and immediately I was brought back to reality.
"Yeah, I actually just moved here this summer." I said giving her a small smile back.
"Oh, well my name is Jenna. Nice to meet you."
"I'm Kellin, nice to meet you too."
In some weird way, we immediately clicked. The nervousness that once covered my body faded away and I was genuinely having a good laugh with her. She was such a funny girl and so carefree. Once I told her we had the same math class, she got even more excited. I pondered in telling her she fell on me at Austin's party and after a while, I did.
