Chapter 6

So the days went on like normal but today I found myself over at the Fuentes' home. In all honesty, I myself was surprised to be here. I wasn't there to see Vic, but actually Mike and his Friend Tony. I had no idea where Vic was, nor did I care.

Mike had actually invited me to check out his new game he had ordered. I wasn't a huge fan of video games but I said why not. In all honesty though, I sucked. He beat me each time we went for a round which made him ridiculously happy. I on the other hand was frustrated and some what embarrassed.
Tony just laughed at our stupidity and joined in once in a while. It was a bit entertaining though.

"Eight in a row!" he shouted, fist pumping the air in joy. Another loss for me I guess.

"Whatever, I'm done." I shoved the controller on his lap and stood up.

"Oh come on, Kells! Just one more!"

Yes, he was obsessed already but I really didn't want to give him the satisfaction he craved. It's like he felt superior whenever he would beat me. Just because you're basically king of a video game doesn't mean anything, right?

"Nah, I suck either way so you'll just beat me again. Why don't you make Tony play or something?" He looked at Tony but all he did was shake his head as in a no.

"See!" Mike said standing up.

I sighed, eye roll apparent.

"Okay, fine. Let me go to the bathroom first."

He nodded, so I walked out of his room casually to the nearest bathroom. I remember where the bathroom was since that night so I had no problem getting there. Although of course, I had to pass by his room. The light was on and you could hear faint talking. It was obviously him, but I shrugged and just walked to the bathroom.

I did my business and walked back to Mike's room, but when I got there I was met by a surprise. Clear shock was on my face but Vic just sat there like nothing.

I tried to play it cool, so I just went back to sitting with Mike. Vic sat next to Tony but I refused to glance at him. If I looked at him, I was afraid of making eye contact or something. I just don't know how I would be able to handle that.

Mike started the next round again so I shakily grabbed the remote control. I knew I was going to lose, and I was completely fine with it but now with Vic here, I really didn't want to embarrass myself.

Those five minutes were painfully long and at the end of the match without a doubt, I lost. Mike once again cheered and whistled on happiness. I just frowned, feeling like the biggest loser in this room.

"Wow, that was a pretty uh, rough loss," Vic spoke up. I looked at him and saw the amusement in his eyes as Tony laughed. That fucker.

"Oh yeah, how about you try to beat him?" I challenged him. He raised his eyebrows up at me but before he could speak, Mike cut him off.

"Vic doesn't do video games," he said.

"No, no I'll do it," he said without disconnecting his eyes from mine. I don't know why I was still looking at him, but I couldn't just look away either.

He walked over to me, and grabbed the remote from my hands. His fingers briefly skimmed over mine, sending a small electric shock through them.

Mike started the game and off they went. Let's just say, Mike was for sure beating him but Vic was still pretty good. He knew what he was doing, unlike me. The concentration on his face without a doubt made me smile. I don't know why, it just did.
