Chapter 2
The next morning mom had to leave early for her job. She wasn't going to start working right now, but she needed an introduction or whatever they call it. She is a cardiologist and luckily had scored a good job here. Another motivation to move far from "home".
Right before she left, I could literally feel the
excitement she had bottled up in her when she said goodbye. I told her that I love her and that everything would go great. I knew it would. She was a great person and deserved the best.Since she would be gone for a few hours, she left me a list of things to do. Of course, I needed to do some more unpacking, and a little or a lot of fixing up around the house. Try to make this new home, well homey you could say.
After eating breakfast, I didn't bother showering and quickly got down to business. I unpacked decorations and tried to "dazzle" the place a bit like she would probably like. There's a chance she won't like it and do it herself but it doesn't hurt to try.
The hours passed as I put many things into their place. The house seemed fuller although I had just done the kitchen and living room. There were so many empty boxes laying around the place so I decided to take them outside by the trashcan. Just as I placed the last box outside, to my luck the most fortunate person popped up. It was him. Vic.
He was unlocking a car, which I assume his. I froze in place at the sight of him again, but was relieved he hadn't seen me yet. Just as he opened the door, I took a step back to get far away from there but one of the boxes was behind which made trip.
"Shit," I said on the verge of falling. Thank god for my fast reflexes I was able to hold my balance. Barely.
Although I was fine, I had totally forgotten about Vic. He was looking at me, but there wasn't much of expression on his face. Faintly I heard 'fucking loser' come from his lips before he got inside his car and then drove away just like that.
"Way to fucking go, Kellin." I whispered to myself feeling the heat raise to my cheeks. He had seen me trip, and I look like a hobo. He on the other hand looked like a fucking model - what the fuck am I even saying? He called me a fucking loser!
I shook the thoughts from my head and just headed back inside and into my room. Most of my things were unpacked except my special essentials. The first thing I saw was my notebook. No, it wasn't my diary. The pages were filled with random lyrics that had just come to mind at the time. It was a good distraction from doing other things. Nothing special was in there, just more of a hobby.
Whenever I think of what I want to be after graduating, nothing seems to come to mind. My thoughts go blank. I've never thought about pursuing a career in the music business. It just doesn't seem like me.
Another reason as to why I think I don't belong here sometimes. I don't know. Everyone seems to have a plan before graduating but I don't. I know I should be worried, but I rather not think about it.

After mom got back, I asked her if I could take the car to go grocery shopping. Usually I hated doing that, but I can't keep living in this house where there is barely anything to eat. We needed something.
It was nice because Walmart was only a few minutes away along with many other stores. The neighborhood placement was right by the city but not too deep into it.
Right away I picked items from the long list and as time passed, the cart got heavier. An hour had probably passed before I finally walked to one of the checking out lanes. Let's just say they had a ridiculous number of registers opened for the people. There were too many of us and too little of them. It was annoying.
"Hey Kellin!" I heard a semi shout from behind me.
When I turned around, I was suprised to see Mike. Of course to his left was none other Vic. I met his eyes for a second before he leant over to Mike and whispered something. Without a single word towards me, he left. Of course the prick would do that.
"Hey," I said my voice barely audible after Vic had left.
"What a surprise to see you here."
"Yeah, the new house really needed it's food," I said with a small chuckle at the end facing the cart full of food.
"Ah, I see," he replied. "Hey, uh, we're having a party tomorrow night since our parents are staying over with our aunt and were wondering if you'd like to come over for a bit."
I actually didn't think about it too much before the words left my mouth. It was the obvious answer.
"No, thanks. I'm not the party type of person."
"Oh come on. This can be a good opportunity to meet people before school starts since you're new and all."
Okay now that really got me thinking. It was kind of true, but I didn't want to do it.
"I don't know," I said unsure. There was a faint frown on Mike's lips so I reconsidered. "I'll think about it, okay?"
"So is that a yes?" He asked hopeful.
"Maybe."
Yeah I know, I'm stubborn as fuck. But I don't know, what if this party atmosphere isn't the best thing? What if I return to those old habits again with the torturous temptation? No, I cant.
I said my short goodbye to Mike and began to check out.
