hello! so, to preface this, this is based off of a song: Feathers Across the Seasons by Hitoshizuku × Yama△

if you don't wanna be spoiled, watch it after (though you should listen to it either way its a good song skdfhkjdf)

They are my favorite vocaloid producers so I really loved writing this, it's kind of different from my usual work, but ya know its still cool either way

Travelling through a storm, a woman holds tightly onto the bag at her back. She could hardly see the path she travelled, but for however long she had been in this village, she managed to learn the route by heart, making the trip only slightly easier in the weather.

Cold wind blows, covering a small ghostly village in a blanket of pure white show. There's a house far from the others clumped in the town's center square, one by the fields of rice on its outskirts. Inside that house, a pair sit by the fire, holding each other for warmth.

With one arm around the woman beside him, he sees her face glow from the light of the fire, as she tilts her head upwards in his direction. She's smiling. And her eyes are glowing like the flame.

'What is it?' he asks, and she laughs as she buries herself into his shoulder.

'The day that we met, it was snowing too.'

'It did.'

Through the storm, heavier than the one present day, he had showed up at her house for shelter for the night.

The night turned to days, and even as the snow came to pass, he couldn't bring himself to want to leave.

'I'm glad you stayed.' she speaks softly, with her voice only loud enough to hit his ears.

In turn, she felt the same way. And for that he would be forever grateful.

Spring greets them calmly. As they prepared for harvest in the Summer, the trees surrounding their village bloomed with cherry blossoms, decorating the sky with its light colors and sweet smell.

He passes by the front of their small worn home, with a woven basket in his hands. For a moment he stops and looks up at the sky. He raises his arm and after a second, a small white bird preaches itself on his curled finger.

It stays silent, as if waiting for Victor to speak first. He shakes his head, but eventually gives in, offering a short song.

In response, it happily chirps back.

'What a beautiful voice.' sitting on the steps of the home's front entrance, she calls out to him with a smile. His cheeks are dusted in red as she slowly turns to approach her.

'If someday I lose my voice, and if I lose my song, would you love me even then?'

She laughs, shaking her head treating his words as a joke. He sets the basket down, and takes the seat on her left with the bird still singing on his finger.

'Of course I would.' she speaks, linking her arm with his. She leans her head against his tall shoulders and finally finished, the bird flies away.

She moves faster, knowing that her village was only a few steps more forward. But, in the corner of her eye she sees something struggle with rapid desperate movements. And as she stops, it's cries pierce through the sounds of the storms surrounding.
