(High school!AU)
You scribble something in your notebook as you sit on the bleachers overlooking the grass field of your high school. Other kids sat haphazardly on the taller seats behind you. Every so often, you would look up with them as you watched a sports team practice in the late spring day.
When looking up, your eyes seemingly start to scan the crowd for someone specific. On the far corner of the field, you see him. A tall, brown haired boy, taking a drink of water. His face is glistening with sweat as he overlooks the field, and you can't seem to look away.
That is, until his eyes meet yours, and you look away instantly.
You would hardly call Gavin your friend. The only times the two of you talked was in class, but that was a whole other story. As far as you knew, Gavin was mostly the 'lone wolf' type. Though he was on sports teams in school, where others would usually gain popularity, he would always push others away and keep to himself.
Word even went around that he was a delinquent, but that's neither here nor there.
As you look back down at your notebook, you notice a drop of water fall on your page, then another, then another as rain starts to fall all over the field.
Students cry and laugh. They raced elsewhere as the day had ended a long while ago. You hurry to pack your things but curse as your backpack falls off the bench, no doubt simultaneously getting it stained with mud.
'Are you okay?' a voice asks as they reach down and grab your bag for you.
'Not really! I really liked that bag.'
'I'm sure we can get it clean.' He holds it out to you, now realizing who it was who helped, you freeze.
'Gavin!'
'Yes?'
'You're getting all wet!' You take your bag back, at the very bottom was an umbrella. It was a light green one that looked like a frog, that you were sure you haven't touched since elementary school, but you assumed he wouldn't mind too much.
'It's fine, really. Don't worry about me.'
'No please!' You hold the umbrella to him. 'Take it, I have a hood too, so...'
'If you insist.' He opens the umbrella, and laughs slightly as he hangs it over his head. 'Thank you. Could I...walk you home?'
'Don't you have practice?' You ask as you slip on your bag and pull up the hood of your jacket.
'It was called sort since the rain doesn't seem to be clearing out anytime soon.' He holds out his hand as drops fall harder against his palm. The sky had grown darker as grey clouds covered the sky. 'So um...'
'Yeah, of course! I mean...sure.' You stand at his side. Smiling bright, he follows you off of school grounds.
Conversation flows naturally when the two of you walk, and it seems like only minutes later when you get to your home.
'Oh, here already.' You do your best to mask your disappointment as you turn to Gavin. 'Thank you, Gavin.'
'I didn't do much. If anything, it was a return for dirtying your bag.'
'That wasn't your fault! And as you said, I'm sure we can get it clean.'
'Right.' He smiles. It's the first time you see his do so. Again, none of his features fail to mesmerize you. 'MC?'
'Sorry, sorry.' You feel your cheeks blush as you quickly look away. 'I'll see you tomorrow!'
'What about your umbrella?'
'Give it to me then, you'll need it yourself to get home!'
'Thank you.'' He smiles watching you wave from the front door and wave back as you step inside. 'For everything.'

+1 future setting
Before shutting the lights of your office, you look back on your floor proudly. It's been tiring, through reports, production, business trips, but you kept your Father's dream alive. No matter what changed with your Father and his past, 'Miracle Finder' would always be a constant. And you turn off the lights.
As you make it down to the main floor, you can already hear the loud heavy raindrops outside the building. You search your purse for an umbrella but are disappointed when you find nothing. Guess I'll have to have run, you decide and step out the glass doors.
But as you step outside, you hear a voice call your name.
'Look, Lily. There's Mom.'
'Mom!' A small girl runs up to you, attaching herself to your legs. The rain water from her ladybug jacket gets on your dress, but you smile all the same.
'Hey, darling! Did you come to pick me up?' You lift her off her feet and smile as Gavin approaches you both, holding an umbrella of his own.
'Yeah! Daddy let me play in the rain, dad even gave me a umbrella! Look, look!'' She holds up a bright green frog umbrella, and twirls it in the air.
'Is that..?'
'It was mom's when she was younger.' says Gavin. He greets you with a kiss as he holds his own umbrella over your head.
'Really?' Your daughter's face lights up. 'Let's share!'
'I think it's a little two small for the both of us, sweetie. Thank you, though.' She nods in understanding as you place her on the ground. Instantly, she's back to running and jumping in the rain.
Seeing your now wet clothes, Gavin places his jacket over your shoulders.
'You really kept it?'
'It means a lot to me.' He turns his head as Lily calls his name.
'You're a really good Dad, Gavin.' You see his face blush.
'And you're a good Mom. Let's go home.'
