Pulling back the curtain of her balcony window, her hopes are only shattered further as she's met with the same sight the news told her to expect that same morning. Her first day off in what seems like forever, and it turns to this.

Heavy, pounding rainfall, covering her beloved Loveland City in a blanket of gray-almost-black clouds.

Part of her, the rational part of her, would simply sigh it off. It can't be helped, can it? It wasn't as if she had the power to control the weather.

But another, louder part of her wanted nothing more than to complain. And complain she would as she sighs deeply, and falls into her bed into the center of her bedroom.

As she burrows her face into her pillow further, a buzz comes from her phone sitting at her bedside. And looking at the caller ID, she's reminded of another storm-like force.

'Shaw?'

'Bailing on me?' he asks.

'Well, we can't really go anywhere, can we?' she replies, referring to the plans originally set by them beforehand. Usually, a rainy day was nothing to stop Shaw. But today he seemed more complaisant to her request.

On the other end he stays silent. She could only imagine what face he was making.

'Disappointed?' she asks.

'What gave you that impression?'

'It's raining a lot.' she jokes. Rising from her bed, she returns to the windowside, and right on cue, lighting strikes far in the distance, though it's still close enough that her view flashes white, and the thunderous roar causes her an obvious verbal reaction.

A low chuckle speaks from the person on the other end. 'Afraid of a little lightning?'

'Yes, actually. I am.'

Shaw scoffs.

'I'll be there in 10.'

'Well, you don't have to go that far.'

'Too bad.' she hears a door open and shut on his end, then the familiar sound of rain. 'You're stuck with me.'

'And what a shame that is.' she hums. 'I'll have a towel for you.'
