Black Swan had long disbanded by then. Whatever job they had with the Queen was stopped and life in Loveland was peaceful.

But, even if the past was past, the actions of what happened before could never be undone.

Lucien sits in an alleyway, his world as monochrome as ever. He's beaten and bruised, left to rot with the rats in the forgotten parts of Loveland. And hey, maybe it's what he deserved.

After who knows how long, he sees a light from the empty streets beside him. A light, and a glow of color. The blue of her dress, the glow of her skin. With what strength he had left, he opens his eyes, and smiles as she quickly approaches him.

'Lucien! What happened?'

'I truly don't know.' she places her hands on his shoulders, and as she hugs him closer he leans into her touch. Lucien never depends on anyone, but this light, the only light he's ever known, draws him in like a moth to a flame.

'You'll be okay, Lucien. Don't worry.' the fear in her voice sounds so genuine. Lucien could laugh.

'Will I, MC?' he asks, his arm wrapping around her waist.

'You will. In my care.'

She pulls back. Lucien shuts his eyes again, leaning back against the alley walls, when he feels a pierce through his heart.

'How does it feel, Lucien.' she sings.

She pushes deeper, working relentlessly to harm him. Lucien couldn't move.

'You hurt me once, it's fitting that I would return the favour.'

He forces himself to open his eyes. To stare back at his light, and watch as she fades from his sights completely. The last thing he sees is the smile that dressed her face beautifully.

Lucien jumps. He sits up in bed, clutching his heart as he starts to catch his breath.

'Lucien?'

Still lying in bed, the body on his right raises her head and stares back at him with a yawn.

'Something wrong?'

'You're alright, aren't you?' he asks, his voice smaller than she's ever heard him.

'I am.' she motions for him to lay down. Hesitantly, he does as she says.

'Nightmare?'

'It's obvious, isn't it?'

'Its written all over your face.' she runs a hand through his hair. 'Would you like to talk about it?'

'It can wait for tomorrow.'

He could just see the sunrise through the window on the left wall. The sky is grey. He tightly shut his eyes. 'Maybe we should stay in today.'

'A late morning?' she questions, her eyes still shut as she wraps her arms around his chest. 'Yeah, I think we deserve it.'

A beat passes. His mind lingers on that word. We.

'I'm sorry.' he says.

'Hm? What for?"

He doesn't say anything further. MC seems to understand, sighing against his shoulder.

'I've already forgiven you, haven't I been clear enough?'

'For good measure, then.'

'Then, I forgive you again.' she says. 'For good measure.'
