At home, Victor worked on a specific schedule. Come home at 5, make dinner at 7, be in bed by 10. When you moved in, he didn't think his schedule would have to change so much. You were a grown adult, no matter how many times you mention staying up until 12, he had faith that you would have grown out of that phase of your work life.

To his, unfortunate, surprise. He was wrong.

The first few times you tried to hide it from him, knowing full well how he'd react. Disappointed, quick to reprimand. But, living in the same house, sharing the same bed, was a very clear and intimate thing. Needless to say, the next morning he mentions it ever so casually.

'It's unhealthy to stay up so late.'

'Good morning to you too, Victor.' You grumble, moving past him as you reach for a mug on the high cabinet.

'I mean it, MC.' Leaning against the counter, he takes another sip of his coffee. 'Is the work really better if you rush to get it done?'

'Easy for you to say.' You scoff. Immediately you realize what you had said and a hand covers your lips. 'Sorry! I didn't mean-'

'MC.' He sighs. Grabbing a mug for you, a round white one with a cat face decorating its front, he places down his own to lift your head so your eyes meet his. He frowns at the dark circles under your eyes, but kisses you anyways.

As he lets go, you smile with your eyes kept shut. 'Was that to convince me?'

'No, that was a 'hello.' You shouldn't need convincing-'

'I'll try to do it less.' You take the mug from his hand, smiling. 'No promises, though.'

He thought it was all said and done there. That was, until Victor woke up late one night. His instinct was to check the time, his bright phone screen reading 12:30am, then to go straight back to bed. As he falls back under the covers he turns left and reaches out his arm to wrap around your shoulders, but his side is empty.

He sighs as he sits up bed, finally noticing the bright light shining through the crack of the door.

'MC.' you hear his tired voice from the doorway behind you. 'Get to bed.'

'I'm almost finished.' You call back. 'Don't wait up for me.'

'MC...' To your surprise, you feel his arms wrap around your shoulders. You laugh.

'Victor, what are you-'

'If you can't take care of yourself,' He lifts you out of your office chair. The action startles you. You quickly latch your arms around his neck.

'Victor!'

'Let me care for you.' He whispers and turns back to your bedroom.

'You're the worst.' You say to him as he drops you into bed, shutting the bedroom door behind the two of you.

'Yes, yes. Leave it for tomorrow, MC.' Throwing the covers over you both, he holds you close. Finally, you give in. Smiling softly as you hug him back.

'I love you, Victor.'

'I love you, too.'
