Morning (Victor)

I wrote this, but then like a cat when it sees a lazer pointer my mind focused elsewhere and i completely forgot about it

"Hey" By the edge of their bed, he leans down to her level, where she sleeps soundly, with her arms wrapped tightly around one of their many pillows. "It's time to get up."

Most days, it was the smell of breakfast that woke her up in the morning. But though she was ever the foodie, even in her dreams, 'most days' didn't account for all days.

The rest were like this one. Victor finds his deep sleeping wife in an assortment of uncomfortable positions that she'd find herself in in the short few hours he left their bed, and wakes her up himself. Or, attempts to wake her up, more often than not.

"Mm," she replies. "Give me a bit."

"You're going to be late."

"Yeah, maybe." she stretches her arms in a way that one would see from a cat, then turns the other way, without a care in the world. Victor rolls his eyes.

"If you go back to sleep, you won't wake up."

"Don't-" she yawns. "Don't underestimate me."

"I'm not-" he chuckles softly. "You're being overdramatic."

"So sue me."

"I'll pull your funding instead."

"Fun."

Time has made her bolder. And in a way, so has he.

He flaps open the duvet and she curls into herself at the sudden cold air.

"Hey..!"

"You have to get up." One arm supports her back, the other lifts up her legs, and in one swift action he carries her in his arms.

"Victor!" Automatically, her arms wrap around his neck, and she's fully awake in seconds.

"I won't drop you." he says, heading towards the door.

"Well, yes. I trust that you won't!" She turns her head, her face is warm as she buries her face into the collar of his neck. He smells fresh like his cologne. It's comforting, though if anything it would immediately put her to sleep once more.

"Good morning, Victor." she mumbles. She could feel his laugh against his chest.

"Good morning, MC."
