MC wakes up before Gavin. They never had an established schedule, Gavin mostly tried to get as much sleep as he could between jobs, but they would mostly have woken up at the same time. Today was Saturday, and the empty space at his side was obvious as he woke up to the light of their bedroom shining bright over his head.

Sitting upright in bed, he hears her voice follow through the open door and follows it down the hallway. She was wide awake, but she could also hear irritation as she talked to someone at the receiving end.

'No, I understand. But, why would-'

He finds her standing in the center kitchen. Wiping his tired eyes, he wraps his arms around her waist. She turns to him, a smile forms on her face, but falls quickly as the voice on the other line spoke again.

'What? This is so sudden, I- Fine. I'll be there. Goodbye.'

His grip loosens and MC moves away, groaning as she leaves the kitchen, back into the bedroom. Gavin follows.

'Is everything okay?'

She was already dressed, seemingly prepared that she would have to leave the apartment early that day.

'Our guest for Miracle Finder cancelled last minute. I'll have to find a new one in a few hours, or they will have wasted the whole day.'

'I'm sorry,' his voice is genuine as she passes him at the doorway.

'It'll be fine. I can fix it.' she tries to assure herself.

'You always do.' she smiles. As she wraps her arms around his shoulder, reaching up about to place a sweet kiss on his lips, her phone rings again. She curses to herself and takes the phone from her pocket.

'Sorry, Gavin. I have to take this.' she answers before he can reply, grabbing her purse as she leaves out the door. Gavin sighs in the space where only he can hear, then continues with his morning. Her look of annoyance never fades from his mind, and slowly a plan is formed.

After a hectic day in the office, she's finally released as the last person to leave. Finding a guest was hard enough, but there was also some work left from the day before. They were written wrong, so she had to go through all the forms and printed documents again. She shuts her eyes as she locks the office door behind her.

Today was meant to be hers to spend with Gavin. In her mind, she planned for them to stay inside the whole time, but to her misfortune, a well produced show overtook a day with her boyfriend.

Stepping out of the main building, she was immediately hit with a rush of cold air. She crosses her arms. When leaving this morning, she had forgotten a jacket. Just her luck, she guessed.

She took another step forward into the cold autumn air, when to her surprise, a jacket was placed over her shoulders.

'Everything okay?'

She turns at his voice, recognizing him immediately. 'Gavin? What are you doing here?'

'Waiting to pick you up, of course. What else would I be doing?'

She leans forward as he catches her in his open arms.

'MC?'

'I'm so glad to see you.' She murmurs into his shirt. A soft smile appears on his face as he hugs her back.

'Not as much as I am to see you. Come on, let's go home. Can you walk?'

'Yeah, I can.' His arm slips over her shoulders as they start to walk together.

'You know, I was thinking of stopping to get some snacks on the way home,' he comments. 'But, if you're too tired...'

'I think I can handle going to the store.' her arms slip through the sleeves of his jacket. Though he was some sizes bigger than her, she believed it was a perfect fit.
