so, uh, don't look too much into it (jkjk)

An empty park as the sut sets in the sky. The final family leaves for the night. A Father daughter pair cross the street into one of the tall apartment buildings that surround the small play place, the young girl's laughter echoes in your head as you move forward.

There's a tall slide. It's bright yellow downward slope had faded in hue over time. As you pass, a scene, almost like a shadow, overtakes your vision.

A girl just tall enough to reach your waist, passes by. She's frail and small, but she runs with a bright smile as she just misses your feet.

'Hold on, MC!' A worried Father cries. He does his best to reach her, but stops before you to catch his breath as the girl climbs up the tall slide.

You watch his face shift. From worried, to relived, to proud. You want to reach him. Your arm is outstretched, you can almost feel his rough skin on the tip of your finger, but he falls out of your grasp, as he continues forward, and you remember you're alone. There was never anyone there.

Taking a shaky breath in, you continue to the swingset at the farest end of the small spot of land, and you take a seat. The swing is smaller than you remember. You push yourself back, dirt collects on the edge of your heels as you let go, only slightly do you push forward off the ground.

Loneliness was torture. Yet you couldn't get away.

Thoughts cloud your mind, racing with all things negative, sending you towards a downward spiral, when a voice breaks through the silence.

'You're here.'

You hear his voice but you can't quite face him yet. He sounds tired, like he's just finished his morning run.

'I've been looking for you. Anna said you left at lunch, why didn't...' He stops himself from continuing forward with his reprements. Your head tilts downwards, tears leak from your eyes and all he can hear are sobs.

Victor sighs, though you were never the cause of his annoyance.

'I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I-' you muster, but his actions stop you. He wraps his arms over your shoulders, his hand rubbing and down your back in an attempt to calm you down.

'You don't need to explain yourself.' his voice is calming, soft as he leans down to speak in your ear. 'Just know I will always be here for you.'
