Gav dabble, cause I felt he hasn't gotten the spotlight in a bit, also this is kinda 'writing Gavin' practice

Inspired by the concept 'Star tear disease' if you search for it you'll be able to find more details in some tweets but basically,

originated from jpn twitter, it's similar to Hanahaki, the disease in which you cough flowers due to unrequited love, except instead of flowers, you know, stars 🌟

and in addition, the person may go color blind, so keep some in mind,

Under a clear sky, the city of Loveland slowly starts to shut off. Car speed less frequently as bright lights of the city's apartments shut off and are replaced by street lamps, lining the empty roads. It's quiet and calm, but the silence never lasted that long in MC's world.

Her balcony doors burst open as she stumbles further onto the balcony. Small star-shaped gems fall from her eyes as the lights that accompany them blind her vision. She grabs onto the railing as she leans forward, and the stars rain onto the ground below.

Every star held a mocking tune. A twinkling reminder of her idiocy as she cries harder and harder, with no intention of stopping.

To her, the bright light had already faded, for the world had already turned a dull monochromatic grey.

She had waited for Gavin. Expectantly, at every date, waiting for him to pick up on some signs of her liking, but how stupid that was. Every night she felt worse than the last.

Unfortunately, it took a literal disease for her to open her eyes.

How unrealistic her expectations had been. How her crushing disappointment had no one to blame but herself.

As she leaned over that railing, she waited for her feelings to shift. She admitted her mistakes, why hasn't anything changed?

She found the reason why as a cold breeze hit her bare shoulders. She can't look up; she doesn't want to take that risk. She thought she could run away, until she heard a voice.

'MC? What-' his voice stops abruptly as he spots her actions. He lands at her side, hesitantly reaching out, unknown of what to do next. 'What's wrong?'

'I'm sorry, Gavin.' she says softly. 'I'm so sorry.'

'Hey,' his voice is soft as he takes her in his arms. 'Don't apologize.'

'It's all my fault.' she pulls back, Gavin's hands still loosely holding onto her shoulders, she finally admits. 'Gavin, I love you. So much. And I couldn't say anything, and...and-'

'You...love me?'

She nods as she wipes the stars from her eyes. Ever so slowly, the twinkling noise was dimming.

'MC...'

'You don't have to say it back. I'm fine now.' She takes a deep breath in. 'I'm fine, see?'

'MC, you don't have to put on a brave face.' He chuckles softly, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear. 'I love you, too.'

'You...you what?'

'I love you.' he leans close, whispering in her ear. 'That's why I came here tonight, why I haven't been able to think straight for days on end. I've just been thinking of you and how I always want to be by your side.'

Slowly, her world starts to light up, once more. The color returns to Gavin's face before her, and she laughs as she touches her forehead to his.

'I don't know what I was so worried about.' she says softly.

'There is nothing to worry about.' he presses a kiss to her cheek. 'I will always be with you.'
