This is a short dabble, also on ao3 (Im CamlliaCel, same as on here)

Platonic Victor and Kiro Friendship, implied Kiro/MC

oh and slight spoilers for MC's backstory

-

Victor steps through the front entrance of 'Souvenir,' cold air follows behind him as it pulls shut behind him. The one patron doesn't flinch as he walks by. Victor can see him smile as he taps a reply on his phone. Victor ignores him and crosses into the kitchen.

He trades places with his one employee, and hears them talk as the bright blond finally realized who entered the restaurant behind his back. But, Kiro doesn't turn to greet him like she would. He waits patiently as Victor finishes what Mr.Mills had made for him. A pudding, childish and sweet, fitting for the ones at it receiving end.

Kiro smiles as he places the small dessert before him as Victor takes the seat right across his. Instead of thanking him, Kiro places his phone on the table face up and stares back at him.

'I'm sorry.' He says, smiling sadly.

'An apology isn't the response you give when someone gives you a meal, Kiro.'

'You,' Kiro chuckles slightly. He turns and averts his gaze. 'You never change, do you Victor?'

'Just say what you're thinking.' Victor urges. 'What are you apologizing for?'

'Her.' Right on time, Kiro's phone buzzes again. From where he sat, Victor could see the text. A line of childish emojis, and the background, her face beside Kiro's. Smiling bright as the two wear matching headbands in the middle of an amusement park. Neither of them acknowledges it as the screen fades to black.

'You never gave up on her. You searched and searched and-'

'Don't finish that sentence, Kiro.'

'But, you searched for her and never gave up...when I did. It's unfair, isn't it...'

'How it played out doesn't change anything.' says Victor, his voice calm as he holds his hands in a fist on the table. 'How you feel about it, doesn't change who she loves.'

'She loves me...' Kiro repeats, almost stunned that such a sentence could be fact. A knot twists in Victor's stomach, but he keeps his cool. Standing straight over the younger boy, always the one ahead to watch over them.

'If that's how it is then you cannot change her mind. Don't blame yourself for something out of your control.'

'Thanks, Victor.' He happily takes another bite of his pudding. 'God, I came here to apologize and you're the one who ends up comforting me.'

'Don't think about it too hard.' Victor stood up from his seat, walking towards the exit. 'Enjoy what you have now. And take care of her. We wouldn't want to lose her again.'
