"So, are you doing anything on Christmas Eve?"
"Not really, my family and I always have dinner on Christmas Day, so Christmas Eve's not a big deal at my place. You?"
"Nah, me neither, we're having a small brunch on Christmas Day, but nothing out of common". He smiled through the phone. "So, since none of us is doing anything on Christmas Eve, would you like to go for a drink and hang out or something?" Fingers crossed, he waited for the answer and hoped she accepted his offer.
"Yeah, cool, of course. What time do you wanna meet?"
"I was thinking, maybe half past eight? I'll pick you up from your apartment and we'll go to the pub directly, fancy?"
"Yeah, cool. See you tomorrow, Al".
"Bye, see you". He hanged up the phone and sighed in release, feeling relieved. After months of trying to gather courage to ask Alexandra on a date, that night he finally had the guts to ask her out, accomplishing his objective.
Alex look at himself in the mirror, fixed his white shirt collar and put on his black new trench coat. He was also wearing a chain necklace, black pants and matching skin boots.
He looked at his shoulder-length long hair and tried to fix it a bit, failing in the attempt. Therefore, he ran his hand through it, putting a long forelock behind his ear, covering his eye partly.
He grabbed his small leather notebook, his phone, his wallet and a packet of cigarettes and made his way to Alexandra's, hands inside his pockets. After a few minutes, he reached the building, and rang Alexandra.
After two long minutes, Alexandra appeared. She was wearing skinny ripped black jeans, a white shirt and black boots. She was also wearing a beige trench coat and holding a small bag.
Alex scanned her from top to bottom tilting her head and making a big effort to pretend that he wasn't feeling nervous nor intimidated by the way she looked.
Fuck. What's she doing to me?
"Y-you look great". He smiled, still looking at her.
"You too". She also smiled and took a little mirror out of her bag, checking her hair to make sure it was well enough. Once she finished, she looked down nervously and asked Alex:
"Shall we go?" She said, looking at him shyly.
"Sure. After you". He made a gesture and they started walking, in silence.
"Hey! I'm sorry, I think you forgot this". A brunette short girl shouted behind him, making him turn around. She was wearing a white hoodie and black baggy jeans, giving her a cute and messy look which melt Alex's heart. They were standing in the cinema corridor, given that they just came out the premiere of the newest Tarantino movie.
