Chapter 3

/ Will POV /

The beady eyes, green heads, pointy, pecking bill.

My worst, Tessa calls it irrational, fear and enemy.....

Ducks.

They have already infiltrated my pond and I haven't even lived hear for 48 hours. I sprinted back into the house and up the stairs, crashing into our room to a sleeping Tessa. I jump on the bed and nudge my fiancé awake.

"Wha?? Will go away." Tessa mumbled rolling over so her back was to me. "Tessa the worst thing has happened to us." I scream, close to freaking out and apparently that showed because Tessa jumped up pulling a sereph blade from under her pillow. "Who! where! why?!! Tessa asked clearly showing signs of panic.

"Woah, when did you start keeping a sereph blade and DUCKS ARE TAKING OVER!!!!! We are going to have to move, I'll start packing." I say

"No no no no, we are not packing or moving so sit down. And I started keeping a blade because you never know when downworlders will cause some trouble. Also you woke me up from my much needed sleep to tell me that there are ducks in our pond? Tessa inquired in a deadly quiet voice, slowly walking toward me holding the sereph blade out in front of her.

I back away slowly not wanting to be chopped to bits. "Yeeessss?" I say drawing out the word into a question not quite sure what the correct answer is.
"Well I suggest that you do not do that again Herondale, unless you want me to give you a haircut with this." Tessa hissed, indicating to the blade, but a smile was starting to form on her lips so I knew that she was only semi serious.

/ Tessa POV /

I was initially going to actually do something to him, but I'm nice, well nice enough so I don't do anything to Will, yet.

I still can't believe Will woke me up because of his ridiculous phobia of ducks. Will pinned me against the wall, yanked my sereph blade out of my hands, and took off down the hallway.

My shadowhunter training kicked in and I sprinted after him. Catching up to him at the stairs, I jump on his back, which I might add is difficult with several layers of petticoats and dresses on, but I managed to succeed. Will tripped on the last stair because of my surprise attack and fell on his back with me on top of him.

"I think I win this round." I say with a smug grin. Will smiles back and says he 'let me win'. I'll let him believe that to keep his pride intact. He pulled himself up on his elbows and connects his mouth with mine. I smile into the kiss. We come up for air and see Delia and Evan gawking at us in the hallway. They must have watched the whole spectacle in the hallway that branched off into another wing of the house.

Delia tentatively stepped into the room saying the Charles has arrived and would like meet his us.
