Chapter 10

/ Tessa POV /

All I see is blackness....
I can hear a murmuring of voices surrounding me. I feel like my insides got yanked out, fried, frozen, then stuffed back in. So today's off to a good start. The pain gets so great I give myself back over to the darkness.

Next time I come to I decide to truly wake up.

I open my eyes. First thing I see is the Silent Brothers featureless face, which is a little unnerving. I look over and see Will without a shirt and blood running down his sweat covered back. A sheen of sweat covers his face as a Silent Brother digs around in him for only the Angel knows what. Will notices I'm awake and moves to get up but the Silent Brother firmly presses him back down. The hood shifts and I saw that the Silent Brother was non other then Jem.

"Jem, come on, I need to be by her. Ok well atleast let me move over so we can be closer together." Will whines. Jem agrees in his head, well I assume he does, or else Will just did it on his own accord. The latter wouldn't have surprised me. Will is rather headstrong.

Will came over and stoked my cheek with his thumb. "How's it going Tess? Rough day." Will said grinning. " How long was I out??" I ask. A conflicted look came over Will's face. " Well, ermmm. You were only out for about 3 hours, but the Silent Brothers discovered something." I gave him a look telling him to keep going. He continued," When you were brought here Jem found the demon's claw imbedded in your abdomen. The claw was saturated with poison...... we don't know how to cure it." Will said the last part really fast, probably trying to let it out quickly.

I sit there stunned. " So I might not survive?"

"Oh no, you will. With any side affects? We don't know, because you are not full shadowhunter it is not lethal to you." Will explained. That was bitter sweet news. On one hand I'll live but to what personal expense no one knows. I'm the first half demon half angel spawn. Even the Silent Brothers don't know how the poison will affect me. Well this is fixing up to be a fine day.
